Y/N's POV

Peter and I woke up early the next morning, eager to get home. Peter set up a fire to warm up and we split the granola bar and finished the pretzels. Then I tried getting a signal again. When I finally did I dialed May's number into the phone and pressed call. One ring. Two rings. Three-ring.

"Hello?" We both heard May say with a desperate voice. But then right as I was about to answer the phone shut down and died.

"NO! No-no-no-no-no-no! This can't be happening." I cried into the phone.

"Damn it!" Peter cursed kicking rocks into the distance.

I fell to my knees crying, I can't believe this. "We're never going to get home." I cried.

Peter walked over to me and knelt down pulling me into a hug. "It's gonna be okay Y/N. We're gonna make it home. Don't worry."

"But, what if we don't. What if my mom thinks I'm dead. Or your aunt and uncle do? They'll never find us!"

"What if we find them?" Peter said lifting my chin and wiping my tears away. "If we give up now, you're right they'll never find us. But if we keep looking, and keep trying, we just might make it home. Are you ready to go?"

"Yeah. I guess so. Let's go get home." I answered before we began our trek down the mountain. We had to go down a little bit again, then cross a super long, old, rope bridge, that has a more than 600-foot drop, and shark-infested waters underneath, covered in a thick layer of fog.

Peter was walking in front of me, and even from there I could tell how much I was beginning to like him. He was about the same height as me, with a very athletic build, even though he isn't athletic which is kinda weird. He has curly brown hair, and beautiful brown eyes, that almost have little golden specks in them. Was I starting to fall in love with Peter? No. NO way!

Peter and I made it down to the rope bridge and we were both staring at it in fear. It didn't look safe in the least, it looked as if one single step would cause the whole thing to fall down. It had to be at least 100 meters long, or 100 years old for that matter.

"Do you wanna go first?" Peter asked me handing me the backpack.

"Umm. Yeah, I guess," I said before starting my trek. I started to cross going so slowly. Accidentally one broke from under my foot, causing me to slip, but I was fine. I then accidentally looked down, and I couldn't even see all the way down since there was so much fog. Minutes had passed before I'd finally made it across.

Then Peter began his turn going slightly faster than I did. Then suddenly from the other side, the bridge started falling.

"Peter!" I yelled as he ran towards me but it was too late. The bridge came out from under his feet, and he started falling.

"I LOVE YOU!!" He shouted. "KEEP GOING!!"

I fell to the ground screaming his name until you heard a loud thud from the canyon. He can't be. No this isn't happening. It can't be! Tears were now streaming down my face, and I could barely breathe. I refused to believe what was happening. Almost an hour had passed when I finally ran out of tears. The man who you were coming to love just died, and I didn't even get to tell him that I love him. At this point, I knew that you had to get home, otherwise his death will mean nothing, and his family deserves closure. I got up wiped my tears and looked down the mountain. In the very far distance, I could now see the resort, that's is my next stop.

Peter's POV

As I fell my life flashed before my eyes. From when I met Y/N, all of our playdates and hanging out. Meeting Ned. My parent's death. Getting bitten by a radioactive spider. I'm not ready to say goodbye to life, especially now that there's love too. In the blink of an eye, I grabbed onto the rope in front of me and held on as hard as I could. Before I knew it I came crashing into the side of the canyon and slid down the wall until landing on a small piece of rock. I think my wrist is now shattered, and I have huge cuts and bruises everywhere, but I can't worry about that right now. I have to get back to Y/N. I then began to climb up the mountain but kept slipping down the side, not even my powers are working. I guess we're going to have to use plan B. I climbed up the wall, holding on for dear life until I reached the rope. I then tied the one around my waist, looping it so as I climb I can't go back down, then I used the other one to pull me back up. After what seemed like hours I finally reached the top and was back on solid ground again. I then looked down from the mountain could even see the resort from there. Then I began my descent, hopefully, I'll find Y/N during my quest.

•I was gonna leave a cliff hanger, but it's quite obvious that he didn't die because I have two more books after this! Thanks for reading and don't forget to comment and vote!•

Also, next chapter is the finale so get ready! Fluff and sadness but I'm excited! Love you all
