Chapter 8: recovery, dinner, and a walk on the beach

Izuku's eyes shot open. 'Where am I?!? What's on my leg?' He thought frantically to himself. After looking around, Izuku came to two conclusions: that he was in a hospital room, and that the thing on his leg was a person. "Ochako? Is that you? What happened?" Ochako's head shot up and looked at him upon hearing him speak. "Deku! You're awake! The entrance exam was earlier today, and you over exerted yourself. After you saved me (yet again) I couldn't leave you! I wanted to make sure you were okay." Ochako exclaimed, blushing slightly. "Oh yeah... thanks.. uh. Yeah..." Izuku replied awkwardly. "Wait did you call me Deku?" He asked, confused. "Yeah. That's what that Bakugo kid called you. I thought it was a cute nickname." She replied with a smile. "Yeah he uses it to insul..." Izuku didn't process what she said for he'd never been called cute. "I mean yeah totally call me Deku!" Izuku quickly says fixing his other statement.

"Well it's good to see you awake young man." A small woman noted as she shuffled into the room. "Recovery girl!! I'm a huge fan! Wait! Does that mean you healed me?" Izuku replied with a huge fanboy smile. "Yes. Now take a gummy and scoot. You're perfectly healthy. I don't want to see you here again." She stated sternly, her words belaid by her gentle smile.

"Okay! Thanks Recovery Girl! I'll try to stay out of here." Izuku shot out quickly as he left, Ochako following clsoe behind. "I have this feeling that I'm gonna be seeing that boy a lot more..." Recovery Girl observed as she watched izuku leave.

"Soo uh, where are we going?" Ochako asked. "Well, I should probably call my mom and let her know I'm awake." Izuku replied. "Sure thing! I'll see you later!" Ochako shouted as she started to leave.

"Hey.. um.. hold on."

"What's up?"

"Do you want to have dinner with me and my mom? It's the least I can do, since you stayed with me."

"..." Ochako inwardly freaked.

"... you don't have to!! I was just trying to be nice!"

"No no, I'd love to" Ochaco quickly says after recovering.

"Ok, cool! Just let me check with my mom." Izuku responds smiling.

Inko, naturally, said yes at the prospect of her son bringing a girl to dinner. In fact, she could barely contain her excitement.

*timeskip because I'm lazy*

After a short walk (that felt like forever to the teens), they finally arrived at Izuku's house.

Izuku ran ahead of his friend to open the door for her (and they say chivalry is dead). "Thanks Deku." Ochako stated after walking through the door. "Yep," he replys awkwardly. "So, um, this is my house. I live here, and I...uh...sleep here, and all kinds of things." Izuku stutters, unsure of what to say. "It's cute, very homey, I love it!" Ochako exclaimed in her usual bubbly tone.

Inko was busy making dinner for the three of them when she heard the door open, so, naturally, she had to go see who her son brought home. She sneaked a peak around the corner of the kitchen. 'Oh my, she's adorable.' Inko thought to herself upon seeing the two of them. 'I better introduce myself!' She thought while walking over to them.

"Hello! I'm Izuku's mother, Inko." Inko said to Ochako. "Nice to meet you, ma'am! I'm Izuku's friend Ochako." She replied with a smile. "We are friends!!" izuku thought to himself excitedly. The other two people looked at him weirdly. '... maybe that wasn't in my head...' Izuku thought.
