"I had no idea... After all this time, I had no idea."
The brunette's rising irritation and frustration could be heard clearly in her voice. She subconsciously knew she was talking to herself, repeating the same phrases perpetually. Letting the words set in and carve themselves in the corners of her disconcerted mind.
She was only whispering but it felt like someone was screeching the words inside her skull- causing her brain to rattle and mind to unsettle. It disturbed her slightly, however, she needed to make the new information fit in with the rest of the puzzle she had thought was almost complete.
She had known that something was missing. But Lila had never expected Gabriel Agreste to be Hawk Moth.
"How?"
"HOW?"She screamed outwardly, but the screams remained trapped within the walls of her bedroom and their echoes reverberated inside her head. The loud words bounced chaotically around her mind as if trying to crack her skull open and free themselves.
It was then that Lila noted, consciously this time, that she may be losing her sanity over a small misunderstanding. Perhaps misunderstanding was the wrong word; yes, revelation was much more appropriate in this situation.
The brunette knew that this confusion was only temporary. Once she made sense of this revelation everything would be absolutely fine...
Everything would make sense again.
Lila Rossi would, once again, become the manipulator who didn't need to depend on anyone else and used her intelligence to her own advantage.
Everything would be fine.

— — — — —Lila strode into her silent, still bedroom- only with the sound of her mother's muffled voice blaring through her phone speaker.
Her phone rattled against the table as her mother's voice sent a kiss through her mobile.
The brunette picked it up, dismissing the all too familiar green voicemail symbol on the phone's illuminated screen. Her mother was barely ever home so, for the most part, Lila pretty much lived alone.
Of course she felt lonely; but she didn't let anyone see that through the mirage of lies she created. They acted as fog and gave her a whole new identity- another persona.
She could be whoever she wanted in just a couple of sentences. The persona she had created for herself lead a more eventful life than Lila did.
It was much more enjoyable living her public life as her persona rather than being herself.
Besides, Lila's life was already invested in the lies she created.
There wasn't an option to go back and start over. She was trapped in an inescapable web of untrue stories that she'd weaved herself into.
She couldn't start over.
There was no need to.
Everything was fine.

— — — — —Every school day was the same. Always tedious and dreary.
She was a 14 year old girl, she knew the place that society expected her to remain in. However Lila was far more intelligent than she let on. Her intelligence was her strength.
The end of the school day approached at an extremely slow pace. Everyday it was becoming increasingly arduous to keep up the facade, especially with the new information about Gabriel Agreste still setting in.
Talking to Adrien became strange. Usually she'd always initiate the conversation, or he'd smile and say 'hi'- but those conversations never went anywhere unless Lila continued them.
As of now, knowing his father was the infamous super villain Hawk Moth, Lila barely spoke to Adrien. When he said 'hi' she'd smile sweetly and wave- avoiding any conversation with him.
His father was a super villain and he was innocent. She didn't want to 'contaminate' the two worlds- if that was a thing.
Lila was in between all this. Now she was aware of the bigger picture.
However she'd already chosen her side.
Gabriel gave her the role of Adrien's guardian.
Hawk Moth had made her realise that she was a necessary pawn on a larger scale.
And Lila was okay with being used for a while.

— — — — —Lila laid sprawled out on her bed at home. Eyes still; motionlessly staring at the ceiling. Despite her static exterior her mind was racing.
Normally Lila would be elsewhere. Anywhere doing something other than being confined within the walls of the house.
Today she had too much to think about. And the outside didn't appeal to her.
She needed to clear her mind. That's why she'd usually go outside. But today, the bounds of her bedroom were enough.
"Lila Rossi..." A familiar, purple aura appeared around her face; irradiating it a tinted purple.
A deep voice flooded her hearing, blocking out the silence of her bedroom until it was all she could hear.
"Hawk Moth." Lila replied, her tone neutral and calm. Eyes still quiescent- staring at the ceiling. "It's been a while."
"Indeed. Now that you know of my identity, things have changed."
"Yes. Things are more exciting than I expected. I look forward to working with you in the future."
"Good..." He paused, Lila let the silence stay, uninterrupted. She knew he was thinking.
"I want you to come to the mansion tomorrow. There are some matters we need to discuss; which would be better discussed in person. Adrien's bodyguard will collect you both from after school."
"Of course sir. See you soon."
He said nothing after that, and the purple aura disappeared from Lila's vision.
Once again, she was Lila Rossi: alone in her bedroom, mind racing, eyes fixed on the ceiling.
She was a pawn in Hawk Moth's carefully calculated game of chess- disposable and replaceable.
What Hawk Moth was forgetting, though, was if an equally as calculated opponent could make their way across the board- a disposable pawn can become an omnipotent queen.

Lila is queen uwu
Sometimes I feel like she knows who Hawk Moth is, but at the same time she doesn't.
