AINSLEY WOKE UP THAT MORNING FEELING SICK, she wasn't sure why but something just didn't feel right in her but last time she followed something that didn't seem right but did it anyway ended up in her being grounded for two months after breaking the sprinkler, a part of it flew into their neighbours eye, let's say her father wasn't happy.

But this was different; she felt like something was missing. While she got up and ready for school, her movements were drowsy and slow, like she didn't know what she was doing. But once she saw her dad and spoke to him for a bit, the feeling vanished.

"So I heard some stuff about Nancy Wheeler and what's his name" Ainsley rolled her eyes, but also wondering how her dad found out about her high school drama.

"Steve Harrington, the bane of my existence" Her father laughed deeply, taking a sip from his coffee as he watched his daughter grow mad at the name.

"Sweetie, you weren't even allergic to peanut butter. You're not allergic to anything. I think after a while you started to believe your lies" She gasped, but couldn't help but realise that he was right, the amount of peanut butter sandwiches she had eaten since then was uncountable.

"Don't expose me like that; we're a team, Dad. What the hell?"

"Language,"

She rolled her eyes, a smile on her lips. Ainsley always enjoyed talking to her dad and was glad that he wasn't moping around anymore.

After her mother's death, the three of them all took it in different ways. Andrew hid his feelings, Ainsley locked herself in her room while her father had to continue life like normal, his feet dragged along with him but he still had to keep Andrew and Ainsley alive. So he couldn't just sit on the couch and watch reruns of football, he kept working and got two jobs, even though Ainsley offered all the time to get a job, he didn't want her to grow up yet.

"Do you miss her?" Her father looked at her, making sure they were talking about the same person. He frowned, downing the rest of his coffee before rinsing it and looking back at his daughter.

"All the damn time. But I still have two amazing kids that I have to keep safe and care for, and I know that she wouldn't have left if she didn't think I could handle it" Ainsley smiled at her father's words, as he placed the freshly toasted waffles in front of her and the maple syrup bottle

And the conversation was going well until he brought up a subject that caught her completely off guard.

"Did you hear about the Byers?" Jackson Wilson asked his daughter, who was shovelling the waffle into her mouth, savouring the sugary goodness before shaking her head unable to speak without being rude, as she chewed quickly. "The little one ran away, what was his name again. Wayne?"
