"Oh Lord, not again!" It was Mr.Chan coming out of his apartment.

"Shh! Please. Where's Lola?" I whispered. But instead of answering me he just smiled and walked down the hallway, whistling cheerfully.Thank you so much. I was looking for the keys in my muddy pockets when Jace pushed the door wide open revealing Lola.

"So you decided to skip school and work to go roll in mud?" She asked, pointing at Jace and then me. I smiled at her and she just shook her head before taking Jace to the bathroom to clean him up. But I knew she wasn't mad at me. She never does.

"Lola?" I called after her. She was about to enter the bathroom when she turned to me.

"Yes?"

"I love you." In all of the six years I've known Lola, this was the first time I openly told her that I loved her.

"I know, Sophie. I know."

   Gabriel's POV.

I feel like such creep. I've been following this girl around like some stalker but I didn't care at all. She was talking and laughing with her son not minding the fact that they were covered in mud from head to toe. In one hand she was carrying her shoes and hoodie and holding her son's little hand with the other . They seemed really happy in their little world, faraway  from everyone else.

I couldn't help but think how strange our world is, one mother throws her child away and continues to enjoy life without any remorse while the other clearly loves her son so much it brings tears to your eyes.

"Don't mind her, she's nuts." A brunette girl smiled warmly at me.

"Excuse me?"

"Sorry, I just thought Sophie, that crazy girl, did something to you." She jerked her head towards Sophie .

"No, no. She did nothing." I assured her. Who is she again? I peered over her head to see Sophie was already a few blocks away.

"Then why are you stalking her?" This caught my attention. "What?" I asked baffled.

"Why have you been following her around?"

"And you would know this, why?" I asked her.

"Because I was stalking you." She confessed without any hesitation. "It's not everyday I get to see a new face around here." Now what do I say to that!

"So are you gonna tell me why you have been following them?" As if she remembered something she added "I'm Abby by the way."

"Gabe." As for her question, what do I say? "I'm looking for my son and seeing that girl with that little kid I just... I don't know. I guess I just miss my kid." I decided to go with the truth.

Abby looked thoughtful like she was contemplating something. "You're clearly not from around here, so how did you end up in a small town like this?"

"It's a really long story and I don't have the time." It was a small town where nothing happened and all she wanted was to satisfy her curiosity, nothing else.

"Hey, I can help you find your son. Here," She took my hand and pulled me across the narrow street onto a bench. "We'll find your son if he's here but you have to trust me." I pulled my hand from hers.

"Why are you helping me? What do you want in return?" I asked in a serious tone.

"I don't want your money but maybe we could be friends." She smiled sincerely at me. "Okay, when was the last time you saw him?" Can I trust her? Just to be finally united with my son. What do I have to lose? I've already lost someone important to me.

"Please."She said encouragingly.

I need to do this; for my son's sake. "I have never seen him. His mother abandoned him here when he was born." I said in a monotonous voice.

"I'm sorry." Abby was looking at me with pity.

"Yeah, me too." I sighed.

"When was that?" she continued with her interrogations.

"About four years ago." I mumbled. "I think that's all you need to know. So do yo…" I stopped talking because she looked surprised.

Does she know something?

"Do you know where my son is?" I turned, facing her fully.

" You just want you're son, nothing else right?" Why is she asking me this? Ofcourse I just want my son. I nodded my head.

"Look, this is going to sound unbelievable but I think I know where your son is."

"Where is he? Is he okay?" I frantically asked but she was not looking at me.

"Hey!" I shouted. "You are going to tell me where he is." That made her look at me.

"Four years ago, this girl, a total loser, said she had a son. I knew her, just like I knew she was never pregnant. Besides she was, I don't know, maybe 14 or 15 at the time." She paused tucking a lock of her hair behind her ear. "Anyway, people believed her. But I was sure that baby was not hers. He didn't look anything like her. It was obvious. And now my suspicion is confirmed. He looks just like you." She concluded with a faint smile painting her lips.

"Who is she?" I could feel my heart beating louder as I waited for the answer.

Abby took a deep breath and looked me straight in the eye.

"Crazy Girl aka Sophie."
