Rachel's POV
Mia looks deep in thought so i just sip on my coffee and look around the room. no sooner did i do that, i see no other than Emily Maxwell sitting at the counter with her brother and sister. I haven't seen them in a while. Emily is wearing her old soccer hoodie, the same one she gave me the first i stayed over. "you've got to be kidding me!" Mia said quite loud which brought my attention back to her. "what's wrong babe?" i look down and see she spilt coffee all over her white shirt. By this point everyone in the cafe is looking at us especially the Maxwell's. i make eye contact with Emily and smile. She sends a slight smile back and looks down. God i would give the world to see her actually smile again.

"I'm going to the bathroom to try to clean myself off" Mia said and stormed off. This is my chance to talk to Emily. I stoop up and instantly fall back down, my nerves got the best of me there. Let me try again. I stand up slowly and walk towards the beautiful girl i once called mine and her siblings. i hear mason whisper "here she comes, act cool." i laugh to myself and greet them. "hey guys! long time no see!" Jen was the first to say something, "good seeing ya kid, how've you been?" i make eye contact with Emily again but she just looks down again. "um. good good, busy as all hell but um hey em, can i talk to you? ya know in private?" she looks over at her brother and sister as in looking for permission but sighed and shook her head.

Emily's POV
Rachel and I walk outside the cafe, i guess so Mia won't see us. We walk down the street a little until we stop at a little store window. We both just look at the little christmas step up they have in the window. "what do you want rachel? you broke up with me. what could you possibly need?" i asked quite harshly and immediately felt bad. she could sense i felt bad "you... you look good emily" was all she said. "same to you rachel, but that didn't answer my question" she sighed as if she didn't know what to say. she turned around which i'm guessing she did to gain her confidence again. she always did that and it was the cutest thing ever. she turned around again and the only thing that could come out her mouth was "why?" she looked down and was about to say something else until a young mom and her son, maybe like 6, said to us "you guys are standing under mistletoe! you guys have to kiss!" rachel and i both looked up and back at each other, our cheeks bright red. "ryan leave them alone" the mother said pulling her son away. rachel and i both kept looking up and back to each other. she started laughing. "wow who knew i wouldn't know how to kiss my ex" that made my chuckle. we stood there for another couple seconds before she grabbed my face and stared at me. she leaned in first and before i knew it our lips were connected as if we never left each other.
