(Attai POV)
3:40 am

At that moment, my siblings and I looked at each other. Then the scene started to unfold in front of us.

"Fuck." Leon said under his breath.

"MY BABY!! NOOO!!" She yelled, letting out a blood-chilling cry as she threw her head back to the sky. The chill morning air seemed to have gotten colder. The trees around us started to move violently, ready to break any minute from the sudden harsh winds. The wildlife of the wood seemed to have cried with her as it felt like we were surrounded. The sound pierced our ears, sending Verena on her knees, covering her ears with her hands. Leon leaned against a nearby tree, covering his ears, clenching his teeth.

I looked at her heart, and it's accelerated! Glowing much brighter than it looked, like it was flashing from her body. Her cry hurt me just as much as it hurt them. Right now, I had to get her to stop. My body felt like it was vibrating out of control that I couldn't stand probably. Shit. I stepped closer to Samaya as she was still crying.

The longer she continued, the more of her power was seeping out. The environment around her started floating, lifting higher in the air, even the rocks and branches that no mere human can lift without assistance from others or a machine. I looked in horror as a fallen tree started to lift off the ground little by little.

I bare through the vibrations, getting closer to her, and then send myself at her, tackling the girl onto her back, covering her mouth. And in an instant, everything stopped. Earth that was high in the air started to fall back down. Following my instincts, I shielded the girl with my body, still holding her down as she struggled. She got a glimpse of above, and I saw her eyes widen, and she screamed through my hand, letting me know something big was plummeting towards up. I covered her tightly, letting some of my smoke loose to expand around us. I braced and groaned as I felt a harden stinging hit my back, breaking the object from the impact—a rock.

After a few more seconds, everything went silent. Thinking the coast was clear, I emitted my smoke back into my body, breathing heavily from the collision.

"You guys alright?" I look behind me to the others. Verena was already dusting herself off, looking angrier by the second. Leon helped himself up, looking wide-eyed, in shock than he's ever been in his life. I hear Samaya started sniffing under me, trying to go numb to the situation. I looked back at her and she turned her head away, closing her eyes.

"What Father said about them really was the truth." I hear Leon's statement, but I'm not paying attention to him. Instead, I'm looking at the whimpering girl under me. Seeing as though she was submitting as she didn't even fight me anymore. Her heart even seemed to glow a little less than the last time I looked at it. Tears still flowed out of her eyes, washing some of the dirt from the bridge of her nose. Looking at her like this. I realize our position, and I release her standing up to dust my back off.

"We need to do this now." Verena stalks over to Samaya with the intent to kill. But, instead, Leon stood in front of her without a minute to spare, with his hand on her shoulder, stopped her mid-way. He towers over her like a skyscraper.

"You know we can't do that." He stated.

"She almost killed us!" She looked up at him, eyes turning deep gray.

"She can't control it." Leon shook his head. "This plan wasn't supposed to happen like this." He turned his head to the other way, indicating he was giving me a look.

"And you followed along anyway."

"She's pregnant!" His eyes turned dark gold through his glasses.

"Was." Verena corrected. Leon stayed silent, pained by the word that he almost winced.

"You know I can't sense much with this form. If I had touched her earlier..." My brother let it go feeling defeated. He closed his eyes, putting his fingers on the bridge of his nose.

"Look, none of that matters anymore. Or even did. It's not like we were going keep her alive." More silence after that. Not even a word or reaction from Samaya. To know you were captured all to be killed at the end would get to you. But she was quiet. Her heart was calm; she never moved. She has nothing left to lose now.

The two have a stare-down. Watching to see who would give in first.

"We don't have time for this." I stepped in, separating them from each other. "The quicker we reach the Falls, the more likely chance we have to go home before another month passes." I asserted my dominance, letting them know that now was not the time for a debate. "Watch her while I search out if anyone might have gotten pulled to this area from the noise." I let loose my form in my legs and took off fast to go East towards a trail that I knew was 2 miles away. It wasn't closed to the humans' main camping base, but some tend to go down that path. And if they were to experience what we did and survive. That would be trouble.

I reach the trail, scouting for any witnesses. Finally, seeing and hearing that there was one around that could've been here or might have been injured, I sent a message to my siblings.

"I'm here. It's empty."

"Did it reach the trail?" Leon asked. Not far past, I see trees still intact, and further, the destruction never touched.

"Yes, but passed it, it didn't go further."

"Good...." There was silence between us for a long time. Then it came to my attention that something might have been wrong. So I walk back, keeping my guard up, still connecting to my siblings.

"What's the matter?" I demanded. There was still silence. And run back now worried.

"Were we spotted?"
"......"
"Did our father find out our plan and ambushed them while I was gone?"
"......"

Then I thought the worst.

"Is she dead?"
"......"
"DAMMIT, LEON, ANSWER ME!" They disconnected from me.

My head was spinning. I was only a mile and a half away from the second trail when I saw it. The area was surrounded by a darkish gold flood—Leon's special ability. When I stepped in, It reached my ankles. I walked forward. He only used this ability when he was trying to find something that was lost. The smoke was his eyes since, unlike us, he was blind.

I see them now.

Leon standing in the center where I left them. Crouched on the ground with both hand presses to the earth as smoke poured out of him in every direction. Verena was next to him. Turning her body in certain directions as if she was pinpointing her angle to run.

"What have you done," I said in a whisper. They didn't say anything. And I saw them brace when I looked at the spot Samaya was when I left.

Empty.

This drove me through the roof. I Clenched my knuckles. Feeling smoke pour from my mouth as I saw red. She fucking escaped. I see my goals flashing away from me. Along with that golden beating heart she took with her. And then I snap. Letting out a roar, they drove birds away from the area.
