Jimin and Taehyung: 6 years old
Jungkook: 4 years oldThe petting zoo was a strange place to take toddlers, but I was running out of ideas. Personally, I wouldn't come here in my free time. The smell is not exactly pleasing. But at least the animals caught the kid's attention.
We approached the small animals' section, containing animals like hamsters and ferrets. Taehyung was holding my hand and suddenly I felt a hug so I looked down to see him smiling excitedly.
"Chickies!" he exclaimed. He lifted his arm to point at a large coop filled with chicks. I chuckled and led the boys to the cage. The caretaker saw us coming and let us into the cage before closing it again.
We bent down and Taehyung immediately caught a chick. Jimin saw him and made sure he wasn't hurting the chick. "Tae, hold softly," he whispered. They gathered around Taehyung to admire the black chick.
Taehyung's thumb stroked it's back softly. Jungkook reached out and did the same. Jimin stayed back, letting his little brothers go first. Ever curious, Jimin piped up with a question.
"Where do chickies come from Appa?" I smiled in relief, thankful he didn't ask where do babies come from (Hehe).
"They're hatched from eggs after a hen lays them and warms them up," I explained, fixing a strand misplaced hair. Jimin nodded and put his attention back on the chick. After a while, we left the petting zoo and went back home.
I sighed and plopped down on the couch, exhausted. I took in a lot of sun today, it made me tired. I turned on the TV and leaned back on the fluffy throw pillows. I can hear the boy's feet pattering quickly through the hallway, probably heading to their room. Too lazy to get up, I called out.
"Stop running!" The footfalls slowed down and were followed by giggles. I focused on the televisions for a while, but sleepiness overtook me and I nodded off to sleep.

A loud exclaim woke me from my sleep.
"Be free, my friends!"
I got up immediately. If the boys were yelling, they were up to nothing good. "Boys! What are you doing?" I called out.
"Freeing our friends!" responded Taehyung. The sound came from the kitchen so I headed there.
"Which friends?" I asked, stepping into the kitchen. Immediately three pairs of eyes shifted to me. My gaze shifted from their faces to the mess on the floor. It was covered with a yellow substance, which I later discovered to be egg yolk when I saw the discarded shells. I sighed and crossed my arms.
"Alright...whose idea was this?" I asked in a strict tone. The boys stayed quiet, not wanting to rat each out, but I noticed their eyes drifted to Taehyung who was sitting in the middle. He looked up at me and gave me a timid smile.
"Explain," I demanded.
"Jimin hyung told me chickies come from eggs and that their mama warmed them! How can they be warm and hatch if they're if the cold fridge?" he asked. I tried to hold back my smile since this was not a funny situation. How am I supposed to explain this?
"Taehyungie, those eggs already hatched!" I say, the strange statement being the first thing I thought of. Taehyung tilted his head showing his confusion. "Um...the chicks hatched and wanted to thank their mother for having them, so they cooked and left a snack for her in the egg. The mother hen wanted to share with us humans so that's why we have eggs for breakfast every morning." (I have no idea, okay?) Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook nodded their heads, probably understanding the explanation more than I did.
"But you wasted their gifts! You threw them on the ground and now they're useless! How do you think that makes the chicks feel?" I scolded. Taehyung hung his head.
"Bad?" he muttered. I nodded.
"Yes, now help me clean up to they won't be upset about it."
"Okay!" the three boys exclaimed and got up quickly. I chuckled and shook my head before joining them in getting the cleaning supplies.
