Jiae (as Jimin) and Taeyeon (as Taehyung): 4 years old
Jungmi (as Jungkook): 2 years old

Who knew that my daughter, a child I raised since birth, would enjoy shopping?

Jiae practically got on her knees to beg me to take her shopping. She was only 4 though...

I had to give in. Those eyes she gave and the pout were her weapon against me.

But the way people looked at me at the store, like they couldn't believe I was a young man lugging three girls. Some people even thought they were my little sisters, which I tried not to take offence from.

"What? They're your daughters?" they would ask.

I felt a hard tug on my hair as I thought about this. Realizing I had zoned out, I looked down to see Jungmi trying to wiggle her body out of my arms.

"Jungmi, you devil. I'm not letting you down. You'll run away from me," I whispered.

The two year old glared at me and turned away. I swear, she has the mind of a ten year old.

"Appa," I felt a tap on my leg. It was Taeyeon, tears in her eyes threatening to spill.

I gasped. "What's wrong? Why are you crying?"

The middle child sniffed harshly. "I lost Jiae! She's gone!" she sobbed, lunging forward to hug my knee.

I swear my heart stopped. We were in a mall with huge department stores and two floors. If she was lost, how could I ever find my Jiae?

"Taeyeon, its okay. We'll find your big sister, yeah? Just stop crying. Can you do that for Appa?" I soothed, stroking her soft hair. I had to remain calm for my girls.

I mean, losing a child in any way is a parent's worst nightmare.

In my arms, Jungmi babbled and swung her legs like nothing happened while Taeyeon pulled away and wiped her tears.

"Okay now, where were you guys? Did she say where she was going?" I asked. I swear I looked away for two seconds to handle Jungmi and suddenly Jiae goes missing.

"We went over there and said she was going to look at the bracelets but now she's gone!" she told me, her eyes welling up with tears once again.

"It's okay, baby. We'll find her, don't cry or you might upset your little sister," I said quickly, feeling Jungmi tense up.

Taeyeon nodded solemnly and I asked her to lead me to where she last saw Jiae. Though I appeared undisturbed on the outside, on the inside I started imagining what would happen if I never found Jiae.

Woah there cowboy. It hasn't even been ten minutes, the more rational side of me reminded.

You never know, the irrational and parental side of me replied.

I shook my own thoughts aside and looked around for a small girl dressed in designer clothes and wearing a smile that could light up the world.

Taeyeon trailed behind me as I looked through every isle in the department store, biting nervously on her nails. Jungmi watched her calmly, resting her chin on my shoulder to look at Taeyeon.
