Once we all made it to Mike's house the boys took a look at El's and my appearances. We were covered in dirt and grime from the night before.
"Why don't we clean you guys up? Dustin, can you take Eleven," Mike asked, reaching a hand to help me off the couch.
"Yea- yeah, sure. Come on, El. Let's get you cleaned up," Dustin said taking Eleven to the spare bathroom they had just around the corner of the basement.
I looked up to Mike as he led me to the bathroom. He grabbed a rag, wet it, and began to wipe my face off. After getting most of the dirt and gunk off he said, "That's better." I still had tears in my eyes when I turned to my reflection in the mirror. I began wiping at the unders of my eyes since the makeup I was wearing began to come off from my tears. Mike saw my face and said, "You don't need it."
"Still pretty," I asked looking to him.
"Yeah! Pretty, really pretty." I looked at my reflection once again, "Eve?"
"Yes."
"I'm- I'm happy you're home."
"Me, too." We began to lean in closer to each other. Mike took a step forward, so I followed suit and took a step forward. We kept eye contact and when we were less than a foot away from each other Dustin banged on the door, bursting in, ruining whatever was about to happen between Mike and I.
"Guy! It's Lucas, I think he's in trouble." Mike and I ran out as we followed Dustin to the radio before Dustin began speaking again, "Do you remember how he was looking for the gate?"
"Yeah," Mike responded.
"What if he found it?"
Dustin handed Mike the radio as you could hear Lucas faintly yelling on the other side. We couldn't quite understand what he was saying. From what I overheard, he was 'way out of range.'
Mike tried to get to him and tell him to slow down," Lucas, if you can hear us, slow down. We can't understand you."
"Yes, I copy! Do you," Lucas asked excited that we could hear him clearly now, "They know about Eleven and Thirteen! Get out of there! They know about Eleven and Thirteen! The mad hen are coming! All of them! Do you hear me? The mad hen are coming!"
"Mad hen. Does that mean anything to you guys? Like a codename or something," Dusitn questioned looking at Eleven and I.
Lucas yelled into the radio one more time and Mke was able to hear him clearly, "Bad men. Bad men, he exclaimed looking to Dustin. He then looked to El and I, "Stay here." Then he ran away and up the stairs, Dustin following him. Eleven and I looked at each other with fear evident on both our faces. If the bad men were truly coming, Eleven and I would be sent back to the lab with Papa. I don't want to go back.
Dustin and Mike came running down the stairs and grabbed onto to El andI leading us out the back door. She got on with Dustin and I got on with Mike. Once we got to the top of the hill in his backyard, Eleven and I jumped on our respective bikes. We both looked over to our right and saw a group of men with Papa leading them to us.
"Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go," Dusitn yelled as we all biked off. The bad men with Papa all turned around and ran back to their vans. We were biking down the street.
"Dustin! Dustin, do you copy," Lucas spoke from the radio.
"Yeah, Lucas, they're on us."
"Where are you?"
"Cornwallis."
"Meet me at Elm and Cherry."
"Copy. Elm and Cherry!"
