(Shredder)

A week had passed since the great battle. The turtles had moved back into there former and original lair. Miss Shellhammer has invited The female ninja Lotus Blossom, and the mutant girl Mona Lisa, to stay with her in her mansion. As my old friend Hamato has strictly forbade the girls from living with them until marriage.

But I've heard rumors of weddings to come, and I doubt it will be long before my little family and I receive an ivory colored envelope in the mail slot of the Technodrome.

The Technodrome by the way, has a new permanent home. A large fenced off chunk of land in the corner of Central Park. The cities reward to us for saving the planet. After a good word put in by miss O'Neil and hundreds of anonymous witnesses from the New York area, the governor also had us pardoned for our previous crimes.

Thanks to footage from a camera in her news van, which Donatello had managed to also teleport with us on that day, the events that occured inside the Dreggnought was now known world wide. Also what happened in the park, surprisingly that footage was captured by that measily little man, Vernon Fenwick. Though I believe the only reason that footage was caught was because he was running away from the park and fainted in the process. Explaining why the footage is from a ground angle, and tilted sideways.

The footage of the turtles willingness to sacrifice themselves to save our planet, along with the ground footage of all the mutants who battled to save New York when even the authorities fled has really changed the publics perspective on mutants.

Several thousand businesses now display signs in their windows that state 'Mutants Welcome'. My boys are overjoyed by the fact that they can now walk freely into there favorite comic book shops and movie theaters. So much so that they've even started paying for things.

*flashback*

"Krang, I'm tired." Is what is told him after the battle.

"I'll bet, don't worry we've almost reached the Technodrome, you can take a nap once we get home." He answered, steering the module as we drilled our way back home, all exhausted from fighting.

"No that's not what I mean." I had said. "I'm tired of... Losing, I guess. Fighting the bad fight."

The module sputtered to a halt after he released the breaks. It didn't wake Rocksteady and Bebop though, who were sound asleep in the back seat. Krang swiveled his seat towards me. "Go on..."

"For the first time, we've won. And you can't tell me it doesn't feel good. I know it was for the wrong team, the wrong side, definitely not what we were written to do. it's not the way we planned when we first started out, but we've finally done it though, we've won. It finally feels like enough..."

He didn't argue, or croak some insult at me. No, for once, he just listened, genuinely listened. "What are you saying?"

"I wanna retire." I said through a sad smirk. "What I'm trying to say here old friend is that were not getting any younger, ill be 40 In 3 months And you... Well you've got a head start on me by a couple millennia."

"True.." He laughed.

"When I was young I wanted only the world. I wanted in the palm of my hand, and it's subjects at my feet... I felt I needed nothing else, But then, losing you, it made me realize just how short life really is. Now I'm starting to realize other things that I want..." I pictured April in my mind. "A wife, children, to pass on the foot clan, and what I've learned. I mean, it's just me and Hamato, were the only ones left. He's passed on his knowledge, I feel I should pass mine."
