Three little words. The same three words I hear every day, always the same, never changing. They never bothered me before, they shouldn't be bothering me now.
They don't bother me.
Malfoys don't get bothered.
"Quit glaring at the wall would you?" Pansy said as she sank into the seat beside me.
"I'm not glaring." I state icily. I am not in the mood to hear her bitching.
"Oh but you are. God, Draco, your such an arse. You're scaring off all the first years." Pansy pouted.
"What the hell do you want me to do about it?" Now I'm getting pissed off. Doesn't this girl know how to take a damn hint?
"You could do a lot of things, I think the Astronomy tower is a good place to start though." I look up to see Blaise standing next to Pansy. "You do realize that we could be celebrating and having fun, but instead everyone is too scared to even laugh too loudly because you wont stop fucking glaring."
"Are you always this much of an arse Zabini?" I ask, glaring daggers at him as I slowly stand, letting him know that I'm not finding this humorous.
"I'm not joking Malfoy," Zabini states, a cruel look on his face. "Look around. Name one person in the common room that doesn't hate you. One."
I continued to stare at the wall. What was going on? Blaise broke me out of my daze, reaching his arm our to me, hand open. I looked up at him confused. "Come on, mate. Stand up, take a look around."
I look to Pansy and find her smirking at me. "Pansy?" I ask, my voice lowered.
"Don't look at me, I think you're a pathetic arse. I hate you. Everyone here does." She rolled her eyes and got up from the couch, making her way to the other side, facing everyone in the common room. It was then that I realized everyone's eyes were on us. No, me. And every single gaze I met was filled with either fear, disgust, or hatred.
"Step forward if you don't hate Draco." She said, dramatically sweeping her arm behind her, toward me. My face flushed in embarrassment. I should left earlier. I should just leave now. But for whatever reason I couldn't move from my spot, I could only look down and avoid the gazes of my peers.
Blaise grabbed my chin and forced me to look up. Four first years and one second year had stepped forward. I felt a small seed of hope blossom in my chest. "Now," Pansy started again, "How many of you like Draco or want to be his friend. Step forward." Immediately, the five students that had come forward jumped back.
"You see Draco? We may have tolerated your whiny arse for a few years, but I'm so done with it. We all are. We never liked you, I mean, who would? You're such a prat that you didn't even realize it until just now. So, if you would kindly get the fuck out, that would be great." Pansy finished, flashing me a sickly sweet smile.
"I hate you, Draco." Blaise said, which was quickly followed by 'I hate you', 'get out' and other insults from the rest of the house. Blaise and Pansy just smirked.
Three little words. They shouldn't bother me. I don't know when they started to, but I do know that when Granger and Weasle said those words earlier, they stung more then I had remembered.
