as i close my eyes
the darkness befalls me
the hearing within my ears
enhancing
i listen for a beat
one that matches mine
i long for a breath
one entwining with mine
and as my mind climbs this vine
this ladder
these steps
i ponder upon my surroundings
searching for a simple sign
and as my lungs expand and contract
i wonder how you would react
when the search is complete
and radiating from within is untainted heat
and as i close my eyes
allowing darkness to fall
my mind races to a land of elegance
a land of mystery
a land of possibility
a land where you are within my reach
and all that has happened becomes history
