Sunrise

She stood there

The breeze against her

Caressing her cheeks

Like fingers through her hair,

Flowing

The morning air

Crisp as an apple

Fresh as a stream

Birds chirping against the drums of her ears

Singing from their hearts

Filling hers with contentment

As the waves crash against the cliff below

Racing forward, then breaking, as it meets its barrier

Yet never giving up

She sat there

With a smile on her face

Waiting for that first ray of light

To touch her skin

Oh to feel the sun

As it reaches out to you

A moment no other will ever experience

To feel what will never be felt

For as they may see

She cannot

And as she may feel

They cannot
