Meeting Of The Council

The fifth hokage Tsunade Senju walked through the corridors of the hokage tower towards the council room. She had been hokage for about a week and she had to admit that she missed Konoha.

When she entered the room she wasn't surprised when Danzo had beaten her there.

"Good morning Princess." He greeted her which caused a vein on her forehead to pulse.

"Good morning advisor Danzo. Please don't call me princess during the meeting." He gave a small nod in agreement.

Before he could sit down again Tsunade approached him and ran a diagnostic jutsu over his bandaged eye and arm. He couldn't help but smile as she visibly showed her surprise.

"I didn't know we had a medic-nin skilled enough to replace your eye."

"Work mostly with ANBU and ROOT. It's a surprise for my enemies, that and the fact that I can do one handed seals." Tsunade sat down in the chair at the head of the table.

"How is your unit's training going?"

"More and more complete it with complete control of their emotions. Sadly some of them still lose them but I'm working with Inoichi to help them."

"Good."

Their conversation was interrupted by the arrival of the rest of the shinobi counsil which consisted of the major clan heads, department heads, Jiraiya and her predecessor's former teammates.

"Welcome." Tsunade began. "Let's begin the meeting. Now, what are our losses from the invasion?" Shikaku Nara, the jounin commander stood up.

"The losses of our forces are better then feared, but we still lost a good part of our forces." Tsunade leaned back in her chair as she saw the rest of the council take in what they learnt.

"Can we activate the war time curriculum?" Tsunade asked the head of the academy.

"We can. Do you think it's necessary?" He asked the hokage. It was Jiraiya that answered the question instead.

"We should." He looked over the council. "I got word from one of my spies earlier today. Iwa know about the invasion and are planning to take advantage of it."

"When are they planning to attack?" The chunin commander asked as he sat up a little straighter.

"They won't attack for at least a year as they plan to bolster their numbers more and plan." Jiraiya said as he sat back down again.

"I heard the same information." Danzo said from his seat. "Luckily it doesn't appear that Kumo have anything planned. Something we can hopefully take advantage of in the future."

"Good. Make plans for that." Tsunade said from her seat. "How are ANBU and ROOT doing?"

"Root are fine, we suffered minimal losses." Danzo answered.

"ANBU have found several promising shinobi we hope to recruit to make up for those that fell in battle." The ANBU commander said. Tsunade nodded her head in understanding.

"Good. Keep using our genin to clean up the village and help with repairs if needed and hopefully we will be protected again. Now let's watch the tape from the exam finals to decide who should be promoted. Keeping in mind what happened we should look at the entirety of the exam and the invasion."

"Here you are Hokage-sama." The chunin commander said as he handed her a pile of files. She opened the first file and began to read.

"Shino Aburame of team 8. He didn't have a match in the finals so we can't watch that."

"During the first exam he used his bugs to gather the answers." Ibiki, the head of T&I said. "He was good too. If I hadn't been looking for it I would have probably missed it."
