Forest Night

When the sun falls
The moon peaks
The stars shine
And the house creaks

An owl hoots
Its low tune
On its branch
Beneath the moon

The silent deer
Settles down
Rests far from
The sleeping town

Sleeping below
Swaying trees
Allows them
To sleep with ease

Twinkling stars
Coat the sky
All watch while
They pass them by

The moon does glow
High above
Glowing on
The sleeping dove

Beneath the moon
Forest's peace
Seems simply
To just increase
