I wake up Friday morning and take a look at the clock only to see it's too early for me, 8:15. I groan and fall back into the bed, stretching my arms above my head.
After finally deciding I can't fall back asleep, I grab my phone off my nightstand to see a text.
Mad
Whatcha doin today?
I sit up and stare at the text, trying to think of what to reply. I decide to have a little bit of fun with him as we still haven't talked since our incident at the pool party.
Not sure who this is? 🙃
Within a minute, my phone dings.
Mad
Haha, very funny.
Darn, he's already called my bluff.
I'm sorry but the number you have reached is unavailable. Goodbye.
I wait again, hoping that wasn't too harsh and that he will still reply. He does.
Mad
Cammie, let me take you out today.
My heart flutters as I read the words on my screen. I can't help but reply right away.
I'll give you another chance, I guess. 🤷🏼♀️
He doesn't play games, responding just as quickly as I did.
Mad
Can I pick you up at 2?
I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding in. I feel the butterflies in my stomach going crazy.
Works for me.
And with that, I have a date. I smile to myself and set my phone down. It dings but I decide not to look, I opt for staring at the ceiling instead.
I realize I can't wait any longer so I grab my phone to take another look.
Mad
Wear something nice 😏
Wear something nice? What does that mean? Whatever, I brush it off and don't respond. Luckily, today is a school holiday or something so no one has class. That must be why he texted me, hoping I wasn't doing anything. I'm not.
I lay in bed for a little while, waiting for the time to pass by. Eventually, I get up only to see it's now 9 o'clock. A few more hours to go.
I do the usual, get my coffee, eat breakfast, take a shower, etc. I don't run into any of my roommates and Meghan is nowhere to be seen. They must all have plans.
