Scorpius kicks the sand in frustration. "I don't understand!" He says. "Why would Ursa send us to do this?"
"Because she trusts us." Corvus said.
"We got creamed. We are defenseless against Hydra! What do we have, a couple birds? A wolf, a flying horse, and a scorpion? I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think Orion is our best bet." Scorpius goes on. "If this was so important, why didn't she do it herself? Or send someone with better chances! Why not Draco? Heck, even Hercules, or Cetus!"
"Oh, please, Scorpius. Like Cetus could do anything. He needs to be in water." Orion said.
Scorpius glares at him. "Scorpius, please calm down." Pegasus says. "Ursa sent us for a reason. We're her most trusted Star Keepers, she must know something we don't."
"I just can't help but feel she wouldn't have lost this fight." Scorpius sits on a bench. "I mean, we were sent to retrieve the lost Star Keepers, and bring Hydra in. What do we do? Find the lost Star Keepers, but lose one and let Hydra walk away like nothing even happened."
Cynthia sits quietly on a large rock as the others talk.
"Cygnus, you ok?" Corvus asks.
"It's Cynthia. Not Cygnus, Cynthia. And my brother, Landon, was just taken by the man who just tried to kill us all. So I don't care why Ursa sent you, I just care that I get my brother back." She gets up and begins walking in the direction Hydra went.
"Cygnus?" Pegasus calls.
Cynthia stops and turns furiously. "Cynthia."
Pegasus sighs. "Cynthia...I think it's time you heard the whole story."
She rolls her eyes. "Really? You want to do story time now?"
Pegasus ignores her and clears her throat. "I just want you to know what we're getting into." She pats the spot on the bench next to Scorpius. "We just told you the bare minimum."
Cynthia sits on the bench and listens.
"Seventeen years ago, Ursa created you and Lupus. Lynx, Ursa's right hand man, had just come in to warn her of the growing overpopulation in the Star Realm. That's when Hydra came in and started draining the life out of both of you."
"How can he do that?"
"It's just something Hydra can do. Nobody knows why he can do it, you and Lupus were the first to receive abilities. But Ursa and Lynx stopped him. The fight must have opened the portal to earth, and that's when you two got here. Hydra must have been here on earth too, and must've only tracked you when Lupus first turned into a wolf."
Orion interrupts. "You can only track a Star Keeper who has transformed at least once. Since you two had no idea of your powers, he didn't know where you were."
"Right. But Cynthia, do you remember us saying we're immoral in the Star Realm?" Pegasus asks. Cynthia nods. "Well...Hydra was killing you up there."
Cynthia frowns. "You're right. How is that possible?"
"Another advantage of Hydra's." Pegasus sighs. "Now, the other thing-"
"What happened to Lynx?" Cynthia interrupts.
Pegasus stares at her. "Lynx?"
"Yeah. Scorpius barely mentioned him earlier and now I learn he saved my brother and I, but he seems to have just left the story."
Pegasus awkwardly looks at the boys. "Yes, Lynx did save you, but-"
"Oh my Ursa, he's dead, isn't he?" Cynthia sighs.
