Under the sky gleaming with sunlight, beside the busy road, roaring with honking horns and smoky air and right in front of the huge library building, she stood there continuously tapping her blue flowery joggers on the cemented pavement as she waited there impatiently.
She was dressed in dark blue Jeans with ruffled border with a green and white combination top upto her thighs and hair tied in a high pony while few strands on her temples, well suitable for such a weather.
She was holding a pink beaded mini bagpack on her right forarm as she scanned every aspect of her view. She waited for an hour until she turned her face down sadly and redialed a number. After two to three unanswered calls the recipient finally received the call.
"Hello." She answered.
"Actually I was outside the library, waiting for you so I can return the book." She added sheepishly.
"Are you sure about it?" She asked after hearing the person on the other side.
"Okay I'll do it." She agreed calmly.
"Bye." She cut the call and zipped open her bag fishing out the book.

The next day
Time: 7:00 am
After he jumped off his bus, he hurried himself towards the basic sciences block, stampeding up the staircase while another guy with thick curly brown hair managed to catch up with his pace, panting throughly.
He stopped for a moment in front of the forensic laboratory and tied his untied laces of his black and white Puma joggers, tightened the grey tie around his neck and brushed the creases on his white shirt and grey pants. Just then the guy with curly hair reached there, he kneeled down to his backpack placed on the floor and fished out a book.
"Ah..ha..ha..Why do you have this social science book?" He asked him while still breathing heavily to catch up with his breath.
Farhan chucked at him, and smiling at him mischievously, he went inside the laboratory.
"May I come in?" He asked while he knocked softly at the wooden door.
"Come in." He loud steady voice answered.
He stepped inside and a group of brilliant contributers of their faculty turned their heads towards him while he stayed silent. He looked at on of them and presented the book.
"Dr Afzaal." He related to him and Afzaal simply gestured him to put the book on the coffee table, while he and Farhan exchanged mystic glances.
He exited the room silently.

"Thankyou for the book." Farhan.
"You are welcome, if you wouldn't have given me the book, I would have failed at my exam." Maria.
"I am glad you nailed it." Farhan.
"Do you study?" Maria.
"Yess. I am a final year medical student." Farhan.
"Oh I see. Must be a rugged schedule." Maria.
"You wish. :P." Farhan.

The same curly haired guy from the morning made anxious faces as he fully peeked through while Farhan chatted with Maria and carefully balanced the coffee cups in his hands.
He would roll his eyes everytime Farhan would start typing his reply while curiously centred his sharp eyes towards 'Maria typing....' appearing on the top corner until her message arrived.
"What the hell is going on Farhan?" The curly haired guy asked after sneaking for almost ten minutes as he put the coffee cups of the cafeteria table.
Farhan turned up and realized him peeking through his chat, and laughed at him.
"Okay Aqib, I'll tell." Farhan convinced him and pulled him to the chair beside him.
"You better do it." He playfully growled and Farhan took hold of a coffee cup before beginning the narration.

Maria POV
Flashback.
That day at the library, I had my hands on that book and was just about to pull out that book from the book rack but he pulled it out before I could even make any move.
I haphazardly jumped at the my place and saw his half face through the shelves of the book rack. I could see his small brown eyes which were a little red. He looked as if he was not even a little concerned about his surroundings but only in attaining that book. He opened the book, mingling through the index, I saw the lower half of his face as he lowered his head into the book. Shiny light brown complexion with irregularly grown beard scattered over his rough cheeks and his pale cracked lips.
His hands were pale and yellow rough nails seem as if he hadn't gotten any time to trim them. Suddenly he started to move back, towards the reception. He was dressed in a blue faded Jeans with a grey lining untucked dress shirt with a disheveled collar and sleeves. He was holding a black Nike backpack on his back and a white coat on his left forearm.
Shit! He just took the last copy of that book, I have an exam this monday and I need that book at any cost. My consciousness just kicked in! I raced through the crowded library calling out random names to gain his attention.
I still clearly remember him speaking to me, his voice was music to my ears.
BANG
Flashback over
The hammock, I was swinging on just banged into the cabinet behind me brutally knocking me off my beautiful thoughts.
"Be careful Maria, don't swing too fast." I heard mom saying to me.
"Yeah ok." I replied smiling sheepishly.
I wish I could see him again. I guess I am being childish, he is a total different person, why would he bother seeing me as his friend!.___________________
