The Provisional Hero License Exam ended, showing the names of the students that passed and not those that didn't. As they rushed off to receive their hero ID's updating their status, their teachers left to meet them.
This is where Ms. Joke split from Shota and Sumire, and the gray-haired girl could immediately feel the relief that came over the gloomy man when the smile hero was out of sight.
"Don't let her nonsense get to your head." He told Sumire. "Her jokes are full of lies."
"I can tell you're pretty adamant about that." She smiled awkwardly, having not enjoyed sharing the same space as the two polar opposites.
"But thanks for not leaving me alone with her." He said, not daring to meet her wide charcoal eyes. "That would have been hell."
His gratitude made her realize that while he unintentionally offered her security by letting her sit with him and hang around him in front of so many other teaching heroes and students, she was just as much a security blanket for him.
He finally looked at her, wearing a wide, toothy grin. "You're not so bad, babysitter." He teased, taking up his prior, casual and testing personality.
A vein pulsed angrily in Sumire's temple and pursed her lips in an irritable, closed-eyed smile. "Screw you."

Later that night, violence erupted among the students that was like water that had been simmering since the beginning of the first semester of hero courses for class 1-A at U.A. It was finally boiling over, and Bakugou and Midoriya were at each other's throats.
All Might took over the situation, calmed the rival students, and brought them to their teacher who was waiting to formally punish them. Having heard the commotion and All Might's interception with Shota, Sumire stayed with him. She wasn't sure if she was overstepping her bounds for her position; she probably was, but she had grown compassion for the students of 1-A. She even grew a strange compassion for their teacher and all of his melancholy.
His messy black hair was pulled into a thick bun behind his head, his hair pulled out of his face, and though it was a symbol of his lazy, after-hours appearance, it was not unattractive.
The woman was about to head to bed when the incident occurred, so her silver locks were tied in a loose messy bun as long strands framed her face. She wore an oversized tank with baggy sweatpants, knowing that her preferred choice of not wearing pants to bed was not appropriate in front of others. But she was tired, and she longed to crawl back into bed and shred off the extra fabric.
She yawned as Shota grinded his teeth in anger and anticipation. "So fiesty." She commented under her breath.
"Shut up." He spat back in a low whisper.
"You can't say this wasn't bound to happen. Why are you so worked up about it?"
Rather than answering her, he raised the capturing weapon that was in his hands. "Don't make me use this on you."
"Oof, kinky." She snapped back and rolled her dark gray eyes, knowing he wouldn't be pleased with her lack of acknowledging his threat.
The veins in his neck protruded with his flaming irritation. "Who do you think you are? Midnight?" He grumbled.
"Just putting you in your place." She hummed, amused by his reaction.
Before he could rebuttal, All Might arrived with Bakugou and Midoriya. He immediately entangled the students in his scarf-like weapon, sitting them down and squeezing the breath out of them. He scolded them angrily, fuming from the ears as the deflated and sick-looking blonde tried to quiet his anger.
