SECOND PERSON—Ekki had collapsed so suddenly, Six wasn't sure what was wrong with her. They did get a little worried that something happened, however. The atmosphere was completely changed. It wasn't as ghostly— as if something was following you every step of the way.
You entered Geisha's room— half of your body drenched in fresh blood, though it didn't look that way. The blood seemed old like it stained your clothes years ago. The color seemed darker, in small blood clots. It already looked like it was decomposing.
Gnomes appeared, surrounding Ekki's nearly lifeless body as she curled up for warmth.
No one showed sympathy towards Geisha's actions. It would be unfortunate for someone to feel sorry for the crimes she committed—
The fire in your eyes died down, but it certainly was still there, like it was all along.
Six did not hesitate to run into your arms— thankful that you were safe. You could say the same for him. Knowing he was trapped in an escape room made your lip quiver in fear. They were one of the things you hated about this place. Geisha often made it hard for you.
But the hard part was over—
There would be no ruler, this freakshow would burn along with its secrets. As much as Ekki still hated you, the last thing she expected from you was to carry her body out of the Maw as she clung to dear life. The gesture alone made her feel bad for what she has done. You were still willing to help after she betrayed you countless times.
"Thank you— [name]."
You stared at her limp figure. Though you did help her, you were not in a good mood to talk with her. Six helped to escort you both out the room, sparing the lives of others as you headed your way out to the main room where the consumers resided, stuffing as much fat as possible in their mouths.
Lights flickered, and souls were taken— one by one. This wasn't under your control, it all happened naturally as you walked further to the entrance, the place you longed for. The only hope of freedom you had from here.
You began to think of how your parents would react to seeing you again after so long. The door was before you, opening at your command, the light nearly blinding you. These nightmares would still haunt you until the day you died— but at least there would be no more memories to create here.
Six laid their head on your shoulder, grateful to be in your arms again. A slight 'pang' hit their chest, clutching it. They looked at your orbs, burning in content— but there was something they couldn't put a finger on. Your aura was different— though you were good at heart, the power you absorbed did take over you.
It had been so long since the light hit your skin, losing your natural color over the years. There was a boat, Six's boat, a gnome sitting there, anticipating your arrival. You spent your years living in the dark, and in fear, holding onto a string of hope that was slowly breaking. It all felt like the pain slowly lifted from your shoulders, the weight flying into the light.
It all felt like a little nightmare, and you were fine with that.
