Jae's POV

The morning seems slow and cold as I stare into my phone

READ

I wrap a thick scarf around my neck and begin to head outside but I'm stopped by my mother who is throwing eggs onto a plate.

"Come and eat now Jae," she says sternly

I seat myself at the table and willingly scoff down the eggs and bacon served for me

"What's wrong Jae," mom says clearly concerned

"What are you talking about," Ignoring my disappointed heart

"You barely slept last night," she continues watching me eat

"It's nothing, just wasn't that tired," I lie trying my best to finish off my food

"Jae."

"You don't let me know anything these days, you don't let anyone know anything at all," she says I watch her eyes become glassy out of worry

"Mom don't cry I'm ok," I reassure standing up to comfort her

"You need to rest, I'm going to school, I will be fine trust me," I continue to say

"You come straight home tonight alright," she warns

"Of course," I wave and leave the house

The walk to school was sluggish, my feet feeling as if huge chunks of ice were tied to my heels and I was dragging them along with me on the musty cobblestone pathway. I tighten my scarf and dig my hands into my pocket, nonchalantly fishing out my phone my eyes linger on it's blank screen for a few moments before I hastily push it back deeper into my pocket. 'Get it together Jae' I think to myself. I quicken my pace to reach the bus stop just in time grabbing the closest seat I could find. Today is honestly a great day to be lazy ... maybe I should just avoid Shay, talking to her too much has obviously clouded my thoughts, not that it'll be hard to avoid her ROOM M1 is back now things will go back to normal. Her hating me. Me hating her. It sounds good? I carelessly hit my head against the window 'Why am I such an idiot' I say to myself

"You good there?" I turn my head while cringing to find Brian looking at me with a smirk

"Not you again," I say sarcastically making room for him on my seat

Brian dumps himself next to me his bass uncomfortably wedged between his legs blocking a good chunk of my line of sight.

"Why did you even bring that thing today," I complain

"Everyday is bass day," He says confidently pulling up a weird hand gesture

I shake my head and look outside my window in response

At School:

I sluggishly walk out of the bus while Brian struggles with his bass guitar, the driver clearly pleading him to stop bringing it with him...

"I have been bringing this thing on your bus every day for 4 years, why is it a problem now?"

"I'm paying to ride the bus though,"

"Whatever I'm still coming on your bus with my bass,"

"You see that's a good example as to why you shouldn't bring your bass to school so often," I say as he storms away from his argument with the bus driver

"Ha. ha. very funny Jae,"

"That's what a chicken would do," he hoaxes

"Ok, ok, I'm going... I'll meet you in the music room, break 1 ok," he whines

"Yep," I say bluntly watching him walk towards a bunch of gawking girls

"Oh yes how could the girls risk losing an insane child with a bass guitar,"

I turn around to find Shay smiling weakly in a baggy pair of sweatpants and a jumper, her hair once again covered with a beanie and a bag slung her shoulder followed by a pair of huge black sneakers on her feat exactly what I would expect from her.

"Morning," I say as confidentially as possible

"Morning," she replies crossing her arms

"Um so I know you want me gone and stuff but do you want to," Shay pauses for a second my fingertips numb

"Do you want to hang out-" she begins hands remaining in her pockets emotion barely visible on her face,"

"So Jae you ready for tonight's big event," Shay retracts her sentence as a wild Veronica appears between us.

Something seems off about Veronica this time round a certain aura surrounds her body whilst dressed in a vibrant pink dress covered in the image of a strawberry her energy was anything but happy and kind. Rather her usual green envious aura was paired with a fiery red... the intentions of this certain dance she is planning is anything but pure. In fact, I could almost predict that something catastrophic was brewing up within the sharp heels of her stilettos.

"I'll be there," I say out of anxiety

I turn around to Shay, who was avoiding eye contact with anything that wasn't the concrete floor. Slowly she raised her head shooting me a look that screamed 'kill me now'

"And you Shay?" Veronica provokes

"Of course," She finally splitters

"Great I'll see you two then," Veronica finalised walking off with a satisfied look on her face

"This is just a recipe for disaster isn't it," Shay finally says admits watching Shay walk away

"Couldn't have said it better myself," I respond

LATER AT NM1

"Plan worker a charm it seems," Dowoon sulks

"What's with the sulking Dowoon, we have the music room all to ourselves now isn't it great!" I attempt to convince him

A silence falls over the group for a few seconds the only sound heard the ticking clock on the wall.

"Who am I kidding it's boring as hell without Shay," I admit

"FINALLY," The group roars in response

I jump out of my seat shocked by the groups response

"I say Shay performs with the band tonight," Brian suggests

"Don't get ahead of your self Brian you really think Shay would want to perform with us?"

"You don't know until you ask," Sungjin chimes in

The same silence as before falls upon the group

"Don't you get it Jae," Brian yells out

"GO AND ASK HER TO PLAY WITH US!"
