amira sighed and covered her face with her veil " I am almost done, all I have to do is find the owner of this lighter" she said as she played with it"What's with this lighter Amira?" Ahmad asked
"I found it at the accident scene. I was told that the accident wasn't just an accident. I didn't want to tell you this wallah Ahmad, but I need your help, both of you"
Amira looked at Ahmad as he breathed uneasily "I need you to help me. If only Zayed will glance at this lighter everything would be normal, for sure I know that zayed knows this logo just as much as I do, but I can't help it. I'm not remembering anything about it" she paused "go get your brother Ahmad don't let him do anything stupid, mother is the least of our problems right now, I will follow suit.."
But what they didn't know was that their mother is the top of their problems right now, if only they knew what she was planning in her devious mind. if only
....
There in the living room where they usually sit when they are all around for a night over was where Zara spotted Jafar and Ammar seated talking silently... she made a salam as she entered the living room taking a seat close to where Jafar and Ammar are '' Zara, it has been so long, how are you?'' Ammar asked
''I'm fine alhamdulillah Ammar, the orphanage has kept me busy'' Zara replied as she takes a seat beside him
''busy, busy from what?'' Jafar asked smiling at her as she looked at him confused ''I don't know, things I guess'' she shrugged
''things.. what type of thing that you are not even sure of?'' Jafar asked
''ya Allah Jafar, you didn't even greet me properly and you are here bombarding me with confusing questions'' Zara snapped at him and Ammar laughed
''she's right Jafar, a glass of water will do, she looks exhausted'' Zara mouthed a thank you to Ammar as she turned to Jafar ''don't tell me you didn't miss me all these busy days I was in''
Jafar knew both Ammar and Zara knew where his conversation was going, but of course, Ammar was trying to tell him that this wasn't the right time by bringing up a lame excuse, they both know that Zara isn't a guest here, so why bring up the idea of water. and then Zara was avoiding the conversation he wants to have with her, he wanted to talk to her about many things but instead, he just said '' of course, I miss you my Zara'' he smiled at her and went to grab her a bottle
Jafar didn't mean anything from what he said, but of course, Zara felt something from the 'my' he used before her name, to her it meant possession, it meant bringing what happened back from the past. She has tried all day, all night trying to put past those memories, but it's like the harder she tries to push them away, the more it consumes her
Her mind drifted back to the chit-chat she had with Zayed's sister. That family, the Al-feeds, can she ever forget them, can she ever forget the things they did to her, can she ever forget Zayed? is what his sister said true? she's so confused as hell and lost. Maybe she should tell Jafar about the conversation they had with Zayed's sister
''Zara'' Jafar called out her name '' I've been calling your name for quite some time now'' he said handing her the bottle of water
''Sorry I drifted off''
''okay, I wanted to discuss some things with you, but if you are not feeling okay you can lie down in Ramla's room, she has left some time ago'' Jafar suggested
''I'm okay really, I want to talk about something with you too'' she said
''oh yeah'' he said as he changed his seating position to a very comfortable position looking so interested in what she is about to talk
