My eyes lifted open and I shifted around my bed. I tried to pull my blanket over but it was stuck, probably caught in the frame. I pulled harder and I eventually peered over the covers.
Lucy was sitting against the head rest on her phone bobbing her head side to side to her music. I tugged the blanket twice to get her attention.
"What are you doing?" I groaned tiredly. She put her phone away and faced me. "Well good morning to you too."
I covered my head beneath the blanket, "S-sorry. I'm sleepy." I tried to get up but then a sharp white flash of pain coursed through my lower body. I yelped out and fell on the pillow.
"Okay-" she rubbed my lower body through the blanket. "Jeez, He really did a number on you huh?" I muffled an agreement through the pillow. "Well, only thing you can do is strive through it. Y'know?"
I picked my head up, "Sure, I'll-" I winced as another lighting bolt shot up me. "Get through it." Lucy smiled and head patted me, "That's the spirit." She rubbed my head and craned my head back, asking for more. "How'd you even get in anyways?"
"Oh, Trent left the door unlocked. Plus we're suppossed to do laundry, remember? Bring your clothes. And, your other clothes."Lucy went to my living room and had a little cart with her clothes in there. I threw on a thin hoodie and I picked the clothes from my hamper and threw it in the cart, snagging my silver extendable two-way short staff on the way. I usually never needed it but ever since I got robbed one time Dad told me to keep it on me. We both headed out the building.
She was pushing the cart, "So how's life?"
"Why this conversation?" I asked.
"What? If the laundromat is ten minutes away, the walk better not be boring."
"Well then, it sucks."
"Psh, well way to be blunt. And why?"
"Cause." I started counting my fingers, "School is easy but boring, I have no friends, I just sold my mountain bike just to pay the rent last month, and um, I get bullied and beat up and no one seems to care. So how's your's?"
"I mean it could be better. And hey I care, about you and you don't have at least one friend?"
"Great now you sound like Dad."
"What I'm not allowed to care about you?"
"No, I mean it's weird. We're neighbors but, I don't know."
"What? It's weird that we're close? I mean I am in your apartment a lot."
"Y-yeah, like that." I stuttered.
"So that means I'm kinda like your aunt. Your long distance relative aunt. Once removed."
I laughed at that, "So, Aunty Lucy, oh god that's weird to say."
Lucy laughed, "Sure, and I think Lucy is good enough.""You wanna throw 'em in?" Lucy asked, referring to the clothes, "I'll get change."
I agreed and threw in the clothes and a woman tapped my shoulder. "Excuse me, but is that your's?" She pointed at the floor. I looked at the floor and my face got hot.My panties were on the floor. I bent down to grab it, "Ah, n-no it's my um, aunt's." I threw it in the laundry. The woman leaned foward and whispered, "Oh don't worry, it's 2030. I won't judge." Which made me get even more embarresed.
Just then Lucy came back, she added the soap and turned it the washer on, while I sat on my hands, swinging my feet on a bench. Lucy sat down next to me, "And now we wait for like 50 minutes or some shit."
I pulled out my phone to go on instagram and mindlessly scrolled through cars, guns and anime. Lucy who was always nosy asked, "So it that girl a girl? Or is he a guy, cuz he looks like tomgirl, but he wears pink."
I looked up from Astolfo, "Oh he's a boy, but he likes to be girl."
"So he's a trap?"
"Yea basically." I kept scrolling. Then suddenly a woman yelled out and everyone's attention went to her, "HEY! My bag! He's got my bag someone help!" The lady pointed frantically, to man with a black hoodie. The woman's commotion called the attention of two policemen who looked like they finished their dozen of donuts. The policemen chased after the suspect but the thief would get away quickly, with the donuts far away from his heel. I reached for my silver cylinder, my heart beated faster, and I got a nervous sweat. I wanted to do this.
