Old Friend

Hello old friend, I remember when I first called for you. I didn't know a thing. I thought you were the answer. I know now you are. But from then and now I've called upon you more times then I can legitimately count. I do know I am quiet the coward.

Old friend you never once left a thing behind. Im glad you didnt, the answers I would stammer to the eyes that asked the questions.

Old friend you kissed someone I love, still love. I really do wish I was jealous but I was furious and confused. I was in denial. I wondered why you'd do something so callous to them, to me, to everyone.

Old friend how come you never stared into my eyes. When I sat at night thinking about you, why didn't you wrap a veil around my shaking shoulders. How come you never came to me in my time of need.

Old friend I heard a song about you this year. It made me shiver, tears sprung to my eyes. You really did have the best entrance.  I wish I had the courage to meet you.

Old Friend I'm ready to go with you. I'm ready to see the dark. I'm ready for you.

Old friend do you hear me calling for you.  I need you old friend. You are after all my oldest friend.
