Chapter 11

I finally find her room, Paige in my arms, sleeping, and set her down on her bed. I pull the bright blue covers up to her chin, and slump down next to her in the chair. Next thing I know, I am asleep, dreaming of all the wonderful times and adventures Paige and I have had together. The time we went fishing, and Jon fell in, when Upgrade was still around and we would all play dress-up (except I always had to be the manly prince), when we would pick on Spine when he was doing stuff in the H.O.W., and especially when we first taught Hatchy how to make sandwiches. We had just had him unlocked from the vault, and Paige had brought him a sandwich. Hatchy gobbled it up in about 5 seconds.

"My! What was that DELICIOUS food item?" He had asked.

"That is a sandwich," Paige replied.

"Can you teach me how to make them?"

"Sure we can show ya!" I said, a little more excited than I should have been. So, Paige, Hatchy, and I snook up the stairs, past Spine, and into THE KITCHEN. Hatchy was so amazed at every pot and pan hanging from the steel bearings. Paige got the bread, and I got the peanut butter and jelly ready.

"So you put some peanut butter on one piece like this," Paige said, demonstrating, "and then you put the jelly on the other piece like this."

"An' then ya stick 'em together!" I yelled, slapping the two sandwich parts together. It was such a fun memory, all of us giggling, but then, I am awaken by a sound...a sound of smacking.

The first thing I feel is the cold, hard smack on my face. I awake with a start, seeing only Matter Mistress Bunny staring me in my face.

"Sorry, Bunny. I j-j-just needed to see her. So badly."

She stands up, nods, points to the door, and gives a little wave, as a 'go ahead' type of motion, as if signaling to go look for Paige, as I have already noticed that she is not sleeping next to me. The stretcher people must have already picked her up.

"Thanks, B-B-Bunny!" I say, hoping to be able to catch up to them. Dashing out the door, I almost run into Carolina and Gabi. "Sorry!" I yell back. I am able to finally catch up to her in about 20 seconds because stretcher people walk so slow. Walking behind the stretcher, I run my fingers through her hair, and I can see her chest rising and falling underneath that Walter Girl dress. I start to talk to the stretcher men, and they talk back to me, asking where I came from, what it is like living in such a big house, and why she chose me as her boyfriend. I refrain from bursting out and yelling that I AM a girl, and that I am a robot, so does it really matter where I came from? Partly because I don't want to wake up my Paigey, and mostly because we are already at the front door. The Sun shines in through the giant windows we have in the front hall, decorated with a gigantic P and W for Peter Walter. "Until we meet again, my love," I say to her sleeping sick body. All the robots are gathered to say farewell, too. Even Norman showed up.

Paige gets lifted up into the car, and the doors are shut, leaving me, Bunny, Spine, and Hatchy all alone. One by one, they also leave, until I am the last one standing there, hoping that this was all a dream.
