Chapter 20

~Jake's .P.O.V.~

I woke up next to Karlye on the couch. She had her arms wrapped around me and she was laying down on my chest. I was staring at her while she was still sleeping. She looked so peaceful and beautiful. I stroked her hair and kissed her forehead. I got up and put a blanket around her. I went into the kitchen and made some pancakes for us.

~Karlye's .P.O.V.~

I woke up to the smell of pancakes. I got up and saw Jake in the kitchen cooking.

"Good morning sleeping beauty!" Jake said with a smile.

"Would my princess want some delicious pancakes made by her prince."

"I would love some pancakes, my prince." I walked over to the table and sat down. Jake came over with a plate of pancakes.

"Yum! They look so good!" I said and I took a couple of pancakes and put them on my plate. Jake sat down next to me. I took a bite of the pancakes and they tasted really good.

"Babe, these pancakes are delicious!" I said with a mouth full of pancake.

"I am glad that you love it." Jake said and took another bite of his pancakes. After we finished eating, me and Jake sat down on the couch, cuddling next to each other and watching Last Vegas.

"Is your cheek okay, love?" Jake asked.

"It doesn't hurt that bad anymore but I bet I will get a bruise but I am glad that my doctor took care of me." I said looking into Jake's eyes and giving him a hug.

"I am glad that your cheek is doing better because then I can do this." Jake took my face and leaned in and kissed me. The pain in my cheek wasn't hurting as bad as it did yesterday. I loved it when he kissed me. I kissed him back.

"Jake, I have to go to work again." I said in between the kiss. Jake pulled away.

"Karlye, I can't let you go to work with that b*stard and I don't want a chance of you getting hurt again."

"But Jake, I have to go back to work to help my dad even though Hunter is there. If I could quiet my job and leave, I would but I can't because I can't leave my family. They need my help." I said. Then I heard a knock on the door. Jake walked over and opened the door. Charley, Lewi, Danny, Madi and Abby came in.

"Karlye! We came here to check on you to see how you are doing." Lewi said while giving me a hug.

"I am doing alright guys. Thank you for checking on me but my doctor took care of me and I am all better." I said.

"Yep! I took care of my girl because I am her Dr. Jake!" Jake came behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist and rested his head on my shoulder. I turned my head and kissed his cheek.

"At least you two weren't doing anything that you weren't supposed to do." Danny said raising an eyebrow and smiling.

"Well Danny, I hope you and Madi didn't do anything that you weren't supposed to do while she stayed the night." Jake said to Danny smiling. Danny punched Jake's arm and walked over to Madi and wrapped his arm around her shoulders.

"We are glad that you are doing fine." Charley said and gave me a hug.

"Thanks Charley!" I said.

"Come on Karlye! Get ready because you are taking us to work." Abby said.

"Okay Abby! I will be right back!" I said and went up to my room and got dressed. When I finished getting dressed in my work clothes, I walked down and everybody was on the couch.
