Chapter 9

Neil has to leave for mumbai in 2 days so both the families decided instead of doing a grand function, they just have a small roka ceremony while having the engagement later...

Next day was "their"  Roka ceremony..

Avni was sitting in her room wearing a nice red colour suit. She never dreamt of having all this and that too this soon..  How her life changed..
The girl who not even wanted to meet the guy was getting ready for their roka... Excitement and nervousness both are evident on her face.. She knew Neil is the perfect one for her but deep inside she had a fear if he broke her.. If he turned out to be just like her father?  But she composed herself just for him.. She started waiting for him eagerly..

Neil was impatient.. Impatient to see his Avni.. Yes his Avni.. He has truly accepted her with all his heart..

The khanna family reached Ketan Mehta's house for the function..
Riya bought Avni down and made her sit beside Neil..
She was looking at the floor continously... While everyone were busy in last minute preparation..
He whispered.. Not fair would be Mrs.  Khanna.. Itna handsome larka apke bagal mein baitha hai and aap floor ko dekh rahe ho.

She can't help it but smiled..
He continued  u look gorgeous today
And she blushed..

Soon the rituals started.. Shweta gave the shagun to Avni and made her wear chunari..
While Neela gave a coconut (nariyal) along with the shagun to Neil..
Both feed sweets to each other..
Shweta:  toh ab Avni humari hui.. Bass ab yeh pandit ji bata de kab aaye hum apni bahu ko lene..
Pandit ji:  4 months baad ek acha mahurat hai.. Uske baad agle 3 mahine phir agle 4 months ke baad..
Shweta:  wo toh bohot zyada hai.. Utna late nahi..
Bebe:  4 mahine matlab november haina.. Uss samay toh mausam bhi thik hota hai.. Tab sahi rahega kyun?  Aahish Neela koi dikkat hai aapko?
A/N nahi nahi bebe..
Neil saw Avni.. She was not happy.. He knew she doesn't want so much rush..
Neil:  bebe mujhe lagta hai February thik rahega.. Kyunki main November mein delhi nahi aa paunga..
( he lied as he doesn't want Avni to be unhappy.. Avni knew he did it for her)
Prakash:  thk hai phr February ka rakhte hai..
Shweta:  what is this tillu? 

Soon everyone headed for dinner..
He got time to talk to her..
Neil:  Avni tumhe koi problem nahi hai na february se?
Avni:  thank you Neil.. I know tumne yeh mere liye kiya hai.. I can't thank you enough...
Neil held her hand and said.. Avni hum jis relation mein enter kar rahe hai wahan pe thank you and sorry ki koi jagah nahi.. Besides hum dost bhi hai.. And if main nahi samjhunga tumhe toh kaun samjhega?  And I want to know you more.. I want to make you fall in love with me.. Kyunki bina pyar ke koi rishta nahi hota..
She looked at him.. Actually stared..  And they had an eyelock.. Their first eyelock...

Anuj flipped his fingers
Ahem ahem..
Bass yahi baki tha.. Neil murmured.. While Avni got concious..
Neil:  tujhe sharam nahi aati darate hue?
Anuj:  tujhe sharam nahi aati bhabhi ko yuin ghurte hue?  Wo bhi sabke samne.
He went short of words..
Anuj:  bhabhi.. Main aapka cute sa dever.. Jante toh ho aap mujhe.. Kya aap mere sath lunch karengi?  Mujhe and kareena ko bohot acha lagega..
Avni nodded her head and he took her to another corner..
Neil:  sahi hai.. Meri hi biwi ko.. Mere hi samne se le gaya..

So the function went all good and it was the time to leave..
Neela:  Neil beta ab wapis delhi kab aaoge?
Anuj:  ab toh bhai delhi aane ke bahane dhundha karenge.. Bhabhi jo yahan hai...
Avni and Neil got red..
Shweta:  u are rights Anuj.. Ab biwi ke bahane hi sahi yeh aayega toh..
Neil:  aisa kuch nahi hai mom.. And main humesha aata huin..
Anuj:  see mami.. Bhai ne mana nahi kiya ki wo baar baar, Lagatar bhabhi se milne nahi aayenge..

Now this teasing session was getting hard for Avni..

Bebe:  bass bass.. Mere puttar ko ab koi kuch nahi bolega.
Acha toh ab hum chalte hai.. Aap log B jaldi aaye delhi.. Phir mil ke gappe  karenge..
Waise kal aap aa rahe hai na ghar?
Neela:  ji ji bebe..
Bebe:  hum intezaar karenge..

And soon they left..
