He awoke feeling extremely refreshed, yet on an uncomfortable surface. He sat up, and looked around. He was sitting in a wooden room, on a hard wooden floor. There was no furniture or windows. The alien sat on the opposite side of the decently sized room, it's eyes closed. Nelson tried to get up slowly, and perhaps sneak past it. "I see you're not dead." Nelson stopped dead in his tracks. He was afraid. "If you thought you could just sneak past me, you were mistaken. We don't sleep." Nelson gulped. "W..what do you want..?" He saw his phone ringing beside the alien. "You can have this back later," it said. "You want to join those group of humans hunting me, don't you?" Nelson stood still, trying to remain as calm as he possibly could. "But... aren't you.. hunting us?" "No." It plainly said. "We were just looking for you. And defending ourselves." It smiled and shook its head, blinking each of its four eyes individually. "If we had wanted to kill you, we would just absorb the planet's atmosphere until you all died from solar radiation and suffocation. What do you think happened to the civilization that went to war with us on.... what do you call it? Mars? You wouldn't last an hour. Better yet, if we wanted to have fun, we could throw some asteroids at you and watch you scramble in fear because you don't have the technology to get your species off the planet in time. So no, we aren't hunting humans." "Why do you want me?" "Not particularly you," it said plainly. "You're not special. Let's just say.. we're doing an experiment. As you know, your father was in your human military. They were investigating an incident they thought was.. alien in nature, and yeah, it was us. We needed a test subject, and your father got abducted pushing another human out of the way. We changed his genetic structure and sent him back, waited 16 years, and came back for the result. We have tried multiple times and only succeeded twice. All the other humans were too weak and died." "You mean there's another person out there like me..? You mean I'm half... you...?" "Let me finish," the alien spat. "In our war with the ... 'martians' I dare say, around four billion years ago, they destroyed our planet, creating what you now call the asteroid belt. We were stuck in space, in our spacecraft.. and despite that we have never stopped fighting the 'Martians'. We are what you would consider sworn enemies. Human hybrids mixed with our DNA would be an amazing military asset, super soldiers if you will. You would be surprised what these mutations can do." Nelson could barely wrap his mind around what he was hearing. "That's...." "You're intrigued, are you not?" Nelson remained silent. Of course he was. "We already have the other hybrid. She knows and she's on board. We would like both of you though, for obvious reasons." "She?" Nelson asked. "Don't worry, we've made it where you two should come to find each other almost irresistible. But for now, I'll ask you. Will you come with us right now?" "I have friends here... and they would hate me.. I don't want to let them down.. and I have a crush...." he trailed off. Oh. Shit... "I know you'll come around eventually," it said calmly. "I will tell you, she's with that little human group 'hunting us.' She won't outright tell you though. Either way, if you want to live long enough to find out, you're going to want to get better at fighting than that. That was pitiful." "You got billions of years of evolution on me, in my defense." "You couldn't have even ran away. You didn't even notice me until I spoke. I could have killed you. But I helped with that. Look at your wounds." He looked down and every bruise, scrape, scratch and damage done to him was repaired.
"Wait where am I? How long have I been out?" "What do I look like? A chronologist?" The Alien retorted, "I can't tell human time." It's eyes blinked in order again. It was just now he noticed it had no iris. It's eyes were just all glowing green. "But I gave you one of these. It mostly healed your... damage, but it's purpose is to enhance you with our attributes. Activate our mutations that are already inside you." It held out four dully glowing green pills. "Right now, it's only 10% active. Once you take all 5, it'll be 50%, at which point you'll be superior to all the other humans and your eyes will become green, the little circles in your eyes." "The iris?" Nelson asked. "Yea that. Of course, it can be switched on or off, depending on personal preference. She doesn't know you're the other hybrid yet, though. You may be wondering, why? Why not tell her? I could take you right now. But like I said. An experiment." "So.... can I go... please..?" The Alien sighed. "Humans are so simple minded. I need to show you how to fight. And you need to adjust to your new physiology. You're estimated to be 12-20% faster, stronger, and able to think that much clearer. In the same way I learned to speak human type 340, I learned a couple forms of martial arts. I'll teach you a few different types. You can leave once you're able to use them." It stood up and walked over to Nelson. Then, out of nowhere it reached from somewhere behind it and threw a stick at him. He dodged it effortlessly. "What was that for?" Nelson asked. "Go get it. We're starting with armed combat."
He wasn't sure how long was in there, but they spared, over and over, stopping only to let his body heal and to sleep, and healed a bit faster than before. If he focused, he could see his cuts he accumulated through sparring slowly but surely closing up. He got beat up continuously for a long, long, LONG while. But eventually, he got a bit better, although it was going easy on him by using only two of its four arms. He eventually felt pretty confident, and then they switched to hand to hand combat. As he was getting beat up, he learned various kicks, evasions, became proficient in all kinds of different punches and learned about thinking up strategies on his feet. By the end of everything, he was allot better in every area. "I'm absolutely starving, AND thirsty.." he said, panting heavily. "Don't worry about it," the alien said nonchalantly. "We don't eat. At ten percent, you still feel the effects and it may kill you eventually, but your normal limits are gone. You can eat when you get back." It pressed a button on the back of its grey armor, and the wooden empty room they were in de -materialized into an empty warehouse. "Here's this." It tossed him his phone. He immediately looked at the date. It had been two weeks. "Holy shit man," he said out loud. "I need to get back to them!" "You know what," the alien said, pressing another button, which caused the black hooded attire to appear , "As a sign of good faith, and so you can get one last good bit of practice in, I'll even get you your little occupation back." "My job?" "Yes. Your boss and his son are there now, leaving the store alone. I'll kill the one that fired you, and you can 'save' the son from me. Humans are simple enough that that should work out for you." Nelson agreed to it, though he was weary of how the alien could have known about that. But he didn't like that guy anyway. Whatever his name was. "See? You already agreeing to kill another human. You might as well come now." "Can I please just go?" Nelson asked. "Yeah, whatever." The Alien opened the door, which lead to an alley way. "This building in front of us is the store. I'm going to jump out and do my thing, just come out and try to stop me. I'll resist a bit to make it look real, just be careful not to knock this disguise off. Wouldn't want your civilization finding out about aliens. That would spoil the fun." It put the scarf on to complete the look, and passed him the four pills, which he put in his pocket. "Look," It said, "Take This training to heart. The rest of my species can't tell you apart from any other human. And I'm not going to tell them. They will seriously try to kill you." Nelson nodded, preparing himself. "Be seeing you soon," the alien said, and darted out into the alley way. Nelson waited until he heard the screams of his ex boss before jumping out there.
The ex boss was dead, and his son was crying on his knees before him, the alien towering menacingly over him. Unable to think of what to say, he blurted out, "I can't let you kill anymore people." The son and the alien looked at him in unison. Nelson popped his neck. The alien began to approach him slowly. Nelson charged it, jumping up in the air and bouncing off the wall into a kick. The alien ducked and threw a quick jab, catching Nelson across the face. He retaliated by throwing a few more punches and having them blocked and countered, though he was able to dodge the counters this time. After a few more exchanges of blows - neither of them hitting their target - the alien punched at him and got his fist stuck in the wall. Nelson took this as his cue to take action. He ran and shouldered the alien as hard as he could. The alien flew back and smashed through the wall. There's no way I was this strong, he thought, wiping his bloody nose. He must have acted that part. He turned around to see that the boss' son was gone. "Well that was a fucking waste." He muttered to himself. As he stood over his ex boss' dead body, feeling bad, the building behind him suddenly blew up. The police came from around the corner, sirens blazing. Nelson stared at them silently. "HANDS IN THE AIR!!" The police shouted. Nelson stood still. Did I just get setup? "Wait!! Stop he's innocent!" The boss' son was beside the police. "He saved me! Hey, where's the Korean robot?!" "I blew it up," Nelson said, plainly, pointing at the building on fire behind him. He didn't know how to feel. He hated the guy, but seeing him dead made him sick. He didn't like it. The son ran up to him. "Who are you?" "I'm Nelson..." he replied slowly. "The one my dad.. fired?" Nelson nodded. "My name's James, just like my dad... I'm sorry dude..." The fire department came behind them and began putting out the fire. Samuel pulled up behind them, and when the police tried to stop him, he showed them some sort of ID and they let him through. "With my dad... dead.." James struggled for a moment, "I'll need to take over. I can't right now... but you.. you tried to save us.. could you run it for a while..? When I come back, I'll give you a permanent position as a bodyguard... if you'd like.." Nelson nodded. "Can I hire Estavon and Javen back?" James nodded. He briefly explained how to rehire them before falling silent again. "Hey man... I'm sorry.." he told James, "I really am.." James nodded, but spoke no more.
"Nelson!!!" Samuel ran up to him. "DUDE! What the heck!!" "I won," Nelson said, with a sad smile. "Did you seriously just..." Samuel paused. "You gotta come with me!" "Please," Nelson said, "I'm so hungry man," "Lets get some food." They left the scene and stopped to get some food before going home. He ate and drank everything before they got back. "Man they really got you messed up," Samuel sighed. Nelson nodded. He then proceeded to explain everything that had just happened to him, leaving out the part about him being part alien, killing his boss, and that there was another alien inside the E.E.D. Samuel was practically speechless. "I can't believe this..." Samuel muttered. "So.. they want to change you into an alien?" "Yeah but I got away before it could infect me.." Nelson lied. Samuel nodded. "We won't let them get you again." He shook his head in awe. "So you learned alien martial arts? AND you tricked it with some fish??" "I guess so," Nelson said with a small smile. "That's pretty sick man," Samuel said, "You know you really kind of impressed the commander when we told him you actually punched it a few times. He'll go nuts when he finds out you escaped AND killed it on your way back." "Yeah.. I want to help fight them still. I know how they fight and with your training stacked on top of this. I think we can beat them." "As long they don't suck up the atmosphere," Samuel frowned. "That's scary.. but also kinda awesome. We need to use their on technology against them." Nelson agreed. They got out and headed towards their respective rooms. Before Nelson laid down to sleep, Samuel came in and apologized once again. "I'm sorry man. I didn't mean to embarrass you or anything. I was just trying to prevent this from happening.." "I'm just happy to be back."
