Heroes of Olympus Fanfiction - Up in Flames

Leo couldn't believe this was happening.

He had just escaped death and was now riding on the back of his dragon that had previously been a creaky boat. AND he was with Calypso. She held on tight as Festus moved through the air, his golden skin and ruby eyes shining under the sun and reflecting in the water below. Festus's navigation equipment was starting to get a clear reading, which was a good sign. Plus, they were getting farther away from Ogygia, Calypso's old home. Her hair was whipping around behind her, her dark almond shaped eyes showed happiness, she'd never been this far from the island.

"So, how are you Calypso?"

"Fine. What happened to Gaia?"

"We killed her and -"

"You can't kill a goddess, Leo. She'll eventually come back, hopefully in eons time. If she does, she can take Ogygia." Calypso managed a smile, and Leo laughed. Then she looked sad."Apparently I should know all about that."

"What do you mean?" Leo looked concerned.

"Well Hermes told me some old poet said that I was so upset by Odysseus leaving, I caused myself pain and suffering. But Leo, seriously, that never happened."

"Yeah or course, but McShizzle Man Leo shot Gaia out of the earth and then back there" Calypso smiled. She had such a pretty smile.

"So, where are we going?"

A smile widened on Leo's face, and he got super excited. "I was hoping we could go to Camp Half-Blood, my home. It's got cabins for every child of every goddess and God, but they're putting more in! There are monsters and nymphs and satyrs and all my friends are there! Hazel is a daughter and Pluto and can control the mist and can pull riches from the earth, but her brother Nico can summon the dead because he's a child of Hades. Frank is a child of Mars and can turn into any animal and Piper can charmspeak because she's a daughter of Aphrodite, and Jason - the sun of Jupiter - can control lightning and the winds, and then Annabeth is super smart because she's a daughter of Athena and loves architecture, then Percy -"

Calypso's face darkened and she looked down. Percy was still a sensitive subject.

"Calypso, I'm sorry, but listen Percy is a great guy and he's totally sorry about everything. In fact, I tried to be mad at him, but it didn't work."

"Yeh, it's just, I cursed Annabeth, Leo. Then they went to Tartarus, where they could easily meet an aria and get the curse. He was only 16, he could be like 30 for all I know. Time is difficult on Ogygia."

"Well, for a matter of fact, Percy's 17. And trust me Calypso, Percy is totally okay. He's a good guy, and you can hang out with the girls."

Calypso smiled again, but she was obviously sad. Leo needed to cheer her up.

"I'm sure you'll love Camp Half-Blood, and then we can go wherever you want. I just really want to show my friends that I'm not dead."

"Haha of course."

And they sailed off in a comfortable silence, Festus creaking and navigation system becoming more and more clear.
