Flashback (for the whole chapter)
"What's a pretty boy like you doing out here all alone," I turned around quickly as I heard a strange voice. I didn't see anyone but I knew, strange things lurk in these woods and strange voices mean strange things. "Don't be scared," the obviously male voice, a particularly beautiful one at that, whispered in my ear. My body stiffened as his breath hit my neck. "I'm not scared," I said but the waver in my voice said otherwise. I turn around to see that the face of the mysterious man lived up to my expectations. Mesmerizing. "I'm not scared," I said again but this time with more conviction. Looking at this man and being with him suddenly made me feel safe.
"Who are you?," I asked. "And you, love?," he countered. My mind went blank as I looked into his eyes. There was something there. "I'm Stiles. Stiles Stilinski," I rushed nervously. "Niklaus Mikaelson, but you, love, can call me Klaus." Even his name was beautiful. "What are you?", I asked in a whisper. "Brave of you to assume I'm 'something'," he smiled walking away from me. "Wait," I yelled as I ran up to him holding his hand. "You asked me why I was out in the woods alone, so the least you can do is walk me to safety."
~~~
(A/N: After walking for a while and talking about themselves)"So let me get this straight, you're 28 and from New Orleans but you have a British accent, and you came to Beacon Hills, California on private business," I stated as we continued walking through the woods. "And you're telling me that you're a 16 year old adderall filled teenager who spends time in the woods 'just because'," he countered. I laughed. "I think I know what you are Niklaus." I stoped walking to turn to him. "And what is that, love?" Our eyes locked and as he gazed into mine I could tell he wanted me to know. "Vampire," I whispered, suddenly feeling more nervous. He cupped my face with his hand and I found myself leaning into his touch. "Now how did a little genius like you figure that one out?," he laughed still looking at me. "Your speed is faster than a werewolf's. And your hands," I lifted up his hand that I now realized I had never let go of, "they're cold. Lifeless even." I said looking back up at him.
"I don't know what to tell you Stiles, you're just too smart for me." At that point I wasn't listening to him and before I could register what I was doing, I kissed him. "I'm not scared," I whispered, my eyes closed in bliss. "I know," he let out an soft but audible chuckle. "I also know that you want to know more about me," he said trapping my hand and leading me further through the woods. "But I also want to know why you're giving me directions to the Hale house this late at night." With that my body stiffened. "You know about the Hales?," I questioned eagerly. "Don't worry, I didn't come here to hurt your pack but I am well aware of werewolves (and their status) in Beacon Hills."
"So are you a vampire like Twilight or like Dracula?," I asked excitedly as we walked. "Neither. I'm an original vampire but I'm also the first hybrid. Unbeknownst to my mother, at the time, who turned my siblings and I into vampires, I have werewolf blood. Being an Original means that I can't be killed except for with one special stake, but don't worry about that because it's in the safe hands of my dear brother Elijah." He stopped there, looking at me for approval to continue. My face said it all.
Klaus continued to tell me his whole life story in exchange for me telling him mine. The more he told me the more I feel in love. We laughed at every little childhood story we told and we comforted each other with every bad one. Soon he stopped me.
"We have to stop here my dear Stiles," he sighed. "Don't want the werewolves sniffing me out quite yet." I breathed in deep as I lunged forward and gave him a hug. I smiled into his chest as he hugged back. "I don't know why but I feel so safe with you. You're an original vampire, the most dangerous at that, but being around you sends me into a feeling of pure bliss," I said as I pulled away from him, preparing to head towards the pack house. "I feel the same way, love. But don't worry, we may part now but I definitely will be seeing you again,' he said smiling. I smiled back. "Bye, Niklaus," I said as we finally began parting ways. "Bye Stiles." With those words he was gone.
By the time I made it to Derek's house I was 20 minutes late for the meeting. "Yo dude," Scott said as I walked into to house. "What took you so long? We were waiting for you." I looked out the window into the vast woods, knowing that Klaus was out there somewhere, hopefully thinking about me and our time together. "Seriously dude, where were you?" I heard Scott ask, annoyed that I didn't answer his first question. I looked at him from my spot where I was glued to the window. "Nowhere."
