Midnightsky's paws burned.

When she finally opened her eyes, she saw that they had been wrapped in wet moss and secured with cobwebs. Beside her, Heatherstalk and Leafdawn were chatting.

Midnightsky glanced around. This definitely wasn't the WindClan moor— she was in a den.

Her den! They had brought her to the ThunderClan camp. But why was it only Heatherstalk—

The fire. Memories came back to her. She coughed. Her throat felt a little better but it still hurt.

Heatherstalk had run up to her side. "How are you feeling?"

"Better," Midnightsky managed. The moss soothed her hot paws. "I need honey and tansy."

"For your throat?" Leafdawn padded over to the storages and brought back a honeycomb and a few stalks of tansy.

Midnightsky lapped at the honeycomb. She closed her eyes with relief as the warm liquid slid down her throat.

"That feels much better," she murmured, then she chewed up the tansy and swallowed it. Sighing, she relaxed again.

"What happened exactly?" she asked.

"After you collapsed, Leafdawn had the idea to bring you to the ThunderClan camp," Heatherstalk explained. "I came along to help treat you. You've probably out since a little before dawn, I think it was. It's now almost time that most cats get up."

"What will our Clanmates think?" Leafdawn's whiskers twitched with amusement. "Waking up to see us looking like we walked through fire."

"That's because we did," Midnightsky replied.

"I'm just glad that... most of us are okay." Heatherstalk looked down at the ground. "We'll rebuild the camp and we'll be fine by the next Gathering."

Then a shock hit Midnightsky. "That's tonight, you realize that, right?"

Heatherstalk's eyes widened. "Oh, great, it is! Next moon, then. What are we going to do?" she then murmured.

"I can always help," Midnightsky whispered.

"Midnightsky, you've done more than enough for WindClan," Heatherstalk promised her. "You don't need to do anything else."

"Okay, then," Midnightsky replied.

Just then a shriek was heard— Ashheart.

"What happened to you?"

"They're awake," Leafdawn declared.

"Uh..." That was Bushtail. "There was a fire."

"Where?"

"In WindClan."

"In WindClan? Then why did you go in the middle of the night?"

"We went to help Midnightsky."

"What?" That was Wheatwing. "Midnightsky went as well?"

"Well, she's our medicine cat."

"Well, I'm her mother!" A few heartbeats later Wheatwing appeared in the medicine den.

"Great StarClan," the tabby murmured. "Midnightsky, what happened to you?"

"She saved my life, that's what," Heatherstalk replied.

Midnightsky blinked awkwardly at her mother. "Uh...hi?"

Wheatwing just stood there for a few heartbeats, her mouth open in shock.
