A/N: Aight so here's ANOTHER one about this dude I hate ~ ever since I rewrote him into a Catholic in my other story (In Excelsis Deo - check it out. It's funny.) I've liked him more. I even named both my new puppies after his bitch ass. Anywayyyyy this one is kinda shitty (I had an idea that kinda got sidetracked as I wrote this with little pre-planning at work while bored) but it's at least entertaining. Basically you and Light are more transparent with each other and that leads to...things...confessions...and the like.
It's in first person since -for the most part- I STRONGLY see myself in this version of the reader. Hopefully you do too! ♡
Well. Here goes:
♡♡♡
It's cold outside, and I'm more than happy about it. Rain pelts the windows as I sit, huddled into a corner of the steel grey room in which myself and my coworkers collaborate, ceaselessly planning our next move. We'd been through a lot last year, and now that the wild rancorous festivities of the New Year have passed, most of us find the dreary torrents outside monumentally depressing.
I'm not like the rest of them - in a lot of ways, actually. I'm not from Japan, nor was I originally part of the task force, nor was I at all interested in stopping Kira. In fact, before now, I actually kind of understood him.
"Light."
I'm sitting informally again, and that's pretty much the ONLY thing I have in common with L. Oh, my bad. Ryuzaki. We call him that now. I point my toe. It's directed his way. He ignores me.
"Light. Hey. Hey. Heyyyyyyyyyy." He still chooses not to speak. I know he's not that distracted. Most of us have gone home for the night. I clear my throat. "EXCUSSSEEEEEEE MEEEEEEE MR YAGAMIIIIII!!!! I HAVE SOMETHING TO ASK YOUUUUUUUU. PLEASEEEE RESPONNNNNNNNNNND TO MEEE-"
"Oh my GOD. WHAT?"
"I'm bored."
He groans. "That's not a question."
I slouch lower. "Wanna go get an alcoholic beverage with me?"
"No." He frowns. "I've got stuff to do."
I get up. "What kind of stuff?" I walk towards him. We've always been somewhat competitive. Especially with one another. "Catching Kira?"
"Duh. Go away." He actually pushes me when I try to get closer. "You're being annoying...AGAIN."
"Please go get a drink with me. I want to" I hunch over. We both know who I'm mocking. "Test your deductive reasoning skills..."
"Ughhhgh," he exhales. Slowly. Dramatically. "Fine. Fine. Where do you want to go?"
"The most expensive place in town, clearly. I've got my mom's card again."
He mutters as he follows me. "Spoiled brat."
"Elitist snob."
"Damn." He swears, stopping.
"What?" I pause my stride as well.
He looks down. "I forgot an umbrella."
I smile. "Its okay. We can use mine." I walk forward, pick it up out of the bin we all share for things like that, and raise it in the air. It's really really big. "Itll cover us both."
