CURRENTLY, Taehyung was taking a break. A short, yet agonizingly slow break filled with absolute worry and dread.
The color of Taehyung's knuckles were an almost sickly shade of white as he clenched his fists around the edge of the table in front of him. All types of assortments of snacks and drinks were laid out, and on a normal day, they would have been too appealing for him not to revel in at least a few.
But this time, all Taehyung can do is grit his teeth together as he shuts his eyes and clutches the table in frustration, trying to get a grip of himself.
After a long minute, he straightens, plucks a room-temperature water bottle off the surface of the table, and twists open the cap aggressively. He gulps down the water in a matter of three long and continuous swigs.
And as expected, although it wasn't too severe, each swallow made him slightly wince.
"What do I do?" He murmurs to himself helplessly, his emotions in a mix between irritation and despair.
This evening for their schedule, he and the other members had to record for some of the songs on their upcoming album this evening and he needed to do well.
Except, Taehyung had been too much of a coward to admit that his throat was not in a good place to be singing. Now, because of his stupidity from acting like he was fine, here he was, facing a huge dilemma.
He knew how ridiculous he was being, that the only reasonable and logical solution was to simply tell the staff that they'd need to extend the time for recording since his throat wasn't doing well, but he couldn't find the courage to do so.
Perhaps it was because the entire staff had already set up everything, and he didn't want to be the reason they had to push back their schedule once again since it had been moved an entire week after the entire ordeal with conflicts within the group.
So, he'd just decided to quietly power through it.
What a mistake that had been.
The first time his voice had slipped up a bit was when he was recording his own lines for the song. It wasn't too much of a deal, just a slight crack that sounded a bit off. It took him almost ten times until he got it right and they were finally able to move on with a red-faced Taehyung.
That was when he'd asked for a break for some water. Upon his inquiry, one of the staff members had nodded his head in approval and also asked for Taehyung to relax and try warming up his voice a bit more to see if that would help ease him into singing better.
And so, within the interval of his break, Taehyung had fallen into a state of dread and worry, countless thoughts whirling through his brain about how stupid he was and how he needed to do something to fix himself.
