TAEHYUNG wasn't sure how he expected the members to come to know about him and Namjoon. Whenever he had free time to himself, he would have these random bursts of thoughts about sitting beside the leader as they opened up about their relationship.
Perhaps everyone would tease and go around congratulating them. Or maybe they'd all just naturally figure out themselves and simply go on with their lives rather than dwelling too much on the relationship as long as the two were happy.
But sometimes, when things were stressful during the period they worked and he'd sit by himself for several minutes at a time to catch his breath, his mind would wander down a different path, one where there was the possibility that everything could also go absolutely wrong.
And standing here now, feeling like the one thing he found absolute security in was now slipping away before he could even fully appreciate it, Taehyung was left with looming dread.
Of all the potentialities he'd run through in his head, not a single thing could've prepared him for this.
Sitting in the living room with a single lamp on was Seokjin, waiting in glasses and a laptop balanced on his lap.
His expression was for some reason somber, and the tension was clearly building with the way he was seated noiselessly, staring at the way Taehyung had dropped their intertwined hands the second they'd noticed him and sensed the dismal atmosphere.
Their appearances were disheveled, flush still fresh on their cheeks, and breaths still in a form of exhilaration. Not to mention their very slightly tell-tale swollen lips.
"I called Yoongi and told him to come home." Seokjin begins softy. "He should be here any minute now."
When the two members don't say anything, he leans forward.
"Can you explain?" The elder hums, brows raised as he unsteadily raises a hand to rest his chin upon the end of his upturned palm. "Why it's been more than ten goddamn minutes since I asked for you to show up? I was so worried."
Taehyung exhales shakily, not knowing how to approach the topic. He couldn't shake away the slow blanket of unease trying to settle itself upon them.
Yes, they'd expected for Seokjin to be waiting for them, but with such a poker-faced expression? With the posture and tone of someone about to turn their life upside down? He could barely recognize Seokjin. There was not a single thought floating through his mind anymore. He can feel the exhilarated high he was on beginning to instantly diminish into listlessness.
Taehyung turns to the leader, hoping the male had something to supply, but Namjoon seemed to be just as caught off guard, just as unprepared and rigid as he was.
"You were out on a date." Jin had repeated slowly as if they needed some reminding. His head tilts as he adjusts his glasses and regards the way the two members before him shift under the elder's attentive gaze.
