Normal P.O.V

Before long, although it seemed like forever to Wakumi, Zeref and Yoko threw out the anchor and it was time to climb out onto the rocks.

All four passengers exited the ship and went onto the jagged rocks in front of them, carefully stepping so they don't slip up and fall.

After climbing for a while they decide they're out far enough to be in mermaid territory. 

"Hmm...Eritity, give Wakumi, Yoko and I an air bubble and we'll swim down. Once we have the mermaid, Wakumi will teleport us back to the boat for a quick escape. If possible, I need you, Eritity, to stay up here and maintain your spell. You also should make your way back to the boat and make sure everything is safe there." Zeref explains their plan.

"Sounds good." The three wizards agree.

Lucy's P.O.V

War.

That's all anyone ever talks about.

Another battle.

Another couple dozen dead.

Why can't everything go back to normal? Why can't everyone be happy and cheerful again?

Why do humans hate us? Why are we even at war? What's the reason for all this despair?

"AAAAAAAAAAAAH" I hear screams in the distance.

I grab my spear and shield and rush out of the library to help.

I never actually want to kill someone. But it's my duty to help our kind, they are my family. They all are.

Swimming as fast as I can towards the horrific screams, I make my way through town and fleeing crowds and finally make it to the scene.

I spot three humans attempting to kill my best friend, Levy as Erza tries to fend them off.

A black-haired male was holding a sword to Levy's neck and I suddenly couldn't control myself.

In the blink of an eye, my spear was clean through the chest of the black-haired male and I had bashed his head in with my shield.

Wh...what...did I just do...?

Wakumi's P.O.V

The swim was peaceful and silent. No one chanced talking, trying to preserve the air they had. Eritity's spell keeps cycling clean air for each air bubble but working three at a time was hard work and there could be some mishaps.

We got pretty deep until we saw the first mermaid. I immediately teleported behind the mermaid and Yoko tossed me a net. I attempted to catch the fish in front of me when I was suddenly being choked from behind.

We were swarmed by an entire army of mermaids in a split second.

We started taking them out one by one. We trimmed them down until there were only two left, but these two were hard. Especially the red-head.

Zeref was trying to keep one blue-haired mermaid to capture and take back when all of a sudden there was a sphere in his chest.

Zeref...

I panicked. And the next thing I knew, Yoko and I, along with a blonde mermaid were lying on the deck of the ship.

"Wakumi! Yoko! You did it! But where's Zeref?!" Eritity yelled, running towards us.

Yoko jumped up and gasped for air. "We need to go back! What are we doing?! Let's go! Zeref's still down there, we have to go!"

"What?!" Eritity gasped. "You left Zeref down their all by himself!?!"

Yoko rushed to the edge of the ship and attempted to jump off.

Wakumi ran up to him and pushed him onto the deck. "He's gone! You know that! There's no surviving it!"

"THERE'S STILL THE CHANCE WE HAVE TO GO BACK!!! WE....w-we...we can't leave him..."

"YOKO!!"

Yoko grunted and stomped back to their bunk.

Wakumi and Eritity suddenly noticed the nearly dead, suffocating mermaid on the deck and panicked.

"WATER! We need water!!"

"Uh, uh, uh, umm...I got it!" Wakumi exclaimed and she disappeared and reappeared with a giant tank filled to the brim with water.

Eritity threw the mermaid in and they both sighed in relief.

"We...did it..." They both breathed out at the same time.
