Fifty One- Epilogue

After saying goodbye to my friends we met up with Zeek and Harper back at the bases infirmary. She had two broken ribs and some bruising but nothing unmanageable and she was expected to make a full recovery. To my happiness, she also decided to return to Dyspheria with us.

All the bodies were identified and logged before being burned in a ceremonial fire. Everyone who lived through the battle with exception of those who were in the infirmaries attended. 

We honored not only those lost in the battle but those who died before it as well, the humans that lost their lives during the invasion. It was a beautiful service and a peaceful goodbye to the werewolves and vampires.

The Dyspherians who fought aside Syfus were taken back as prisoners. Once we returned back to Dyspheria they were sentenced and put into prison for the rest of their lives.

Upon arriving home, Zandos announced that he would be stepping down, allowing Xenophon to become King and I Queen. Another announcement was that there would be no more separate dragon shifter kingdoms. They were to be united under one King and Queen and a council would be appointed to help the monarchs make decisions.

Yes, that means Xenophon and I were named King and Queen of the dragons and my beautiful baby girl was Princess Luminara. We decided early on that Luminara would be the heir to the throne unless we had more children and she decided to allow a sibling to take over.

She had grown significantly in the time we were gone. Her features changed, allowing us to see who she would most likely look like in the future. She had more of my facial features, but her hair was a short thick black fluff on her head. Though her eyes were mine, Xenophon's purple would spark through once in a while.

Even though her gestational period was smaller than a humans, once she was born she grew more like a human than a dragon. We still had no idea what we had in store for us when it came to how she'd be when she was older, if she'd turn into a dragon or if she would always remain human. 

As soon as I returned to Dyspheria she was the first thing I went to, pushing all others aside to take her from Adina's arms. When she saw me she cooed loudly and her eyes instantly went to purple. 

"I missed you too baby. I promise I'll never go away again," I said before kissing her baby cheeks. I held her for a few minutes until Xenophon appeared.

"Hey! Stop hogging my kid!" he said with a smile. I rolled my eyes before passing her onto her father. To his delight, she welcomed him with her sparkling purple eyes and coos. 

"I love you so much!" he said before kissing her whole face, causing her to giggle and laugh. Seeing them together warmed my heart. 

We had feared that because during part of my pregnancy she couldn't sense him and she sensed Thane instead that she'd be wary of Xenophon and take to Thane as a father figure instead. Thankfully, that was not the case, and inside her baby eyes you could see the adoration she had for Xen, and from that day forward she was a daddy's girl. 

A few months after our return, Mia turned up pregnant. Zor was ecstatic, but when I thought he was protective over me when I was pregnant, he was a whole new story with Mia. She couldn't even walk within the castle walls without him fallowing her, and if he had something he needed to attend to he dragged her along with him. 

Six months after she gave birth to a son and a daughter. Their son was named Theo and their daughter was named Thora. They both had Mia's dark brown hair but immediately sported the purple eyes of Zor. To say they were adorable would be an understatement, and Zor was an amazing father. 

Eventually, we'd get the news from Thane that Azar was pregnant and she gave birth to a daughter, Ember. The baby girl had Thane's black hair and the purple eyes of both parents. 

Three years after Ember was born, Azar had a second child. It was a son they named Maxen, and he had the usual purple eyes but this child had the fiery red hair of his mother. 

Another five years passed until we heard that once again, Azar was pregnant. This time she had a second daughter named Evren and she had the same hair as her mother and older brother. 

Not long after we returned from battle Axa finally met her mate, Baltair. They were quite the couple I must say, both sporting a similar personality, though Baltair might have had a bit more temper. It was usually quite the entertainment. 

Harper and Zeek went on a trip to explore different planets and meet new species. They were gone for a long time, but eventually came back and took their place in the kingdom. Harper didn't fall pregnant until thirteen years later, about six months before Luminara turned fourteen. 

Every so often, Zeek and Harper would swing around to Earth to check up on the werewolves and vampires and to see over the reconstruction of the humans. As far as they could always tell, everything was going smoothly and working well.

Xenophon and I did eventually take our own trip back to Earth when Luminara was three. We found Lizzy and John who had their own child now, a one year old son named Elijah. Bastion never settled down. Instead, he worked as a travelling artist and enjoyed his free life. 

It's funny how life can change and be affected by something as innocent as a hiking trip. If we hadn't planned it for that weekend, I wonder if Xen would've even found me. Would Luminara even exist? In my heart, I was thankful that she did, even if she was created to get me onto a ship and away from Earth. 

She was a wonderful child growing up, and it was clear she had my temper but her father's compassion and patience. She grew to look more and more like me despite her midnight black hair. We discovered that her eyes changed when she felt strong emotions, such as when she was a baby it would happen before she cried or when she was happy. 

As I stood out on the landing pad leaning over the rail I lost myself in thoughts. It was dark, the Dyspherian air was cool and breezy. A large warm body came up behind me and wrapped their strong, large arms around my own. I gave a warm smile, and looked up to the man who I fell in love with. 

I stopped to think about everything that had happened between us, from him helping me back on Earth, to us being each other's firsts, all the way to fighting side by side in battle, and now ruling the Kingdom of Dragons together. He truly was a magnificent man, and has always proven himself to be. 

He leaned down and kissed my cheek before his lips trailed to my ear. 

"It's getting cold out here, you should come inside, Love," he whispered to me gently. 

"I know, but the stars and planets are so beautiful," I said, still gazing up at the dark twinkling night sky. 

"You've always loved the stars," he said with a low chuckle. "Remember the night we spent under the stars fourteen years ago?" Xen asked with a deep low voice. 

"How could I ever forget?" I asked, now turning around to face him. He leaned down and placed a soft kiss on my lips. 

"Want to do it again?" he asked with a seductively low tone. I gave him a smile and a nod before my lips were wrapped up in his, we both gave a final chuckle before he swept me off of my legs and carried me away.
