I wake up in the dim light of a candle. A creepy girl is sitting beside me, staring at me like she's a dog, and I'm fresh meat. I don't realize it until then that I'm on a bed, and the girl is on a chair.
My vision is sort of blurred, like they sedated me. Though I'm drowsy, I feel pain in my arm. I look over and see bandages. I laugh softly at the thought that they may have won. The scientists that is.
"What's to laugh about?" The girl questions with a horrible gravelly voice.
"Nofin, I justh fink iths funneh thath feyth won," I say, though its not supposed to sound like it did. All I was saying was, nothing, I just think it's funny that they won. I spent my whole life running from them, yet i never thought they would actually do it.
"Funny?" The girl starts, standing up, "FUNNY?! YOU THINK THIS IS JUST ALL A BIG JOKE?! I'LL LET YOU KNOW THAT YOU ARE APART OF AN AMAZING THING! SOMETHING BIGGER THAN YOU!!!"
"I'm sorreth! I didinth mean ith like thaht!"
Right then, Jason comes into the room. "So she's awake Angel. Thank you but your services are not needed anymore," he says cooly.
"Yes, Jason," she says practically bowing to him.
When she walks out of the room, Jason's expression changes to one of calmness.
"Sheasth, she's sush an ahngel, huh?" I say almost laughing at how interesting she had been.
"Well..." Jason starts.
"Jashohn, wath happenth?" I say,"You werth all I hadth! Wath theyth do tho you?"
"I-"
"I LOV YOU BROTHERTH! YOU WERETH EVERYTHIN I HADTH!"
Jason guiltily look at me,"Do you want the truth?"he says.
"Yesth!" I reply.
"After they cut my wings, and you flew away, they brought me back here. I struggled but they knew how to restrain a horrified brother. They sedated me, then hooked me up to a machine. I'm not sure what happened, but a while later, I found myself in a cell like this, and my thoughts weren't strait. I felt power hungry, and I thought you were the enemy.
" I thought I was going crazy, but they had changed me. I tried to get out after years of confinement, and that's how I found out I had magic, and that I could fly without wings. I kept having flashes of craziness, and normalness. I didn't know what to do.
"One day, it was worse. I literally couldn't tell what was real. Random images, videos, and songs flashed through my mind. I pleaded with them, but they told me the only way they would help me, is if I helped them. They simply wanted you, and told me to find a way to get you. I was stupid, and desperate. I agreed." Jason, believe it or not, actually starts tearing up,"I'm so sorry Gwen! I never thought about you! Anyway, after I agreed, they helped a little, but said it would come back sometimes. They told me it was a reminder of what I need to do. Gwen, I know its hard to understand, but please try to forgive me!"
I wanted to forgive him. I wanted to forget the pain he, and others have caused us, but I just couldn't. No matter what I did, someone, or something came in, and ruined my happiness!
I was about ready to reply when suddenly Jason spoke, "No, don't answer that. I already know it will take you a long time to forgive me."
Jason then said he had to leave, and left me there to contemplate what to do. I of course had to figure out how to break out, but not a single idea came to mind. I never thought that this would ever happen, and besides, I couldn't think strait right now, considering my condition.
