I feel real emotion as I see Melody lying there in his arms. Immediately, tears come to my eyes.

Her beautiful gold hair, now a pale silver. Her angelic pure white wings with gold flecks, now covered in soot and ash. Her body, now broken. I knew. I knew she was dead. I knew it by Jason's face, by her previous scream, and just by knowing.

"No..." I whisper, horrified.

She had been so beautiful. She had been one of us. I couldn't believe she died so soon. I suddenly felt guilty. Where was I when she screamed? I could have helped her! I knew at once that we needed to get out. The fire was growing, and we were still inside.

I did a quick check around the cells. It appeared Melody had managed to open all the cells. A faint smile crossed my face. At least she died a hero.

"Let's get out," I say.

Everyone agrees, and we fight our way through the fire. It's not easy, but we make it out.

When we get out, there are tons of kids, their age with a wide range, standing alongside scientists. As soon as they see Melody being carries in Jason's arms, tears flow, and mouths are covered.

"Everyone," I say loudly, so everyone can hear me,"Dr. Reef is dead. You have no leader anymore. Scientists, get a new job. This building will burn to ash. All, your files are lost. You have wasted your life, so use your life that you have. You are so lucky. I could have been worse on you for what you have done to us all.

"Fellow experiments, I advise you to go undercover. Find a home. Try to live a happy life. One more thing," I smile,"the legend of the brother and sister is true. I am the sister, and Jason is the brother."

Everyone's eyes widen at what I say. First there's the fire, then Melody dying, I tell them what to do now, an now the legend is true! It was probably too much for them, but I didn't care. I had to get it off of my chest.

There are still some cries of "She was my friend", and some " I didn't think we were that bad", but everything is covered. There is still one last thing I have to say though.

"I will hold a funeral for Melody right here, in this open field. I need a shovel though."

"I have a shovel," a scientist calls out. She gives it to me, and says "I'm sorry for all I have done. I was following what Dr. Reef said so I could keep my job."

"It's OK," I reply.

Many tears are shed as we lower Melody down into the hole we build. Everyone loved her. She was the sweetest of the bunch.

"Bye Melody," I say somberly as we fill her grave.

Not much is said, but there is much crying. I still recall the peaceful state she was in as we covered her. Her now golden again hair streaming around her face. Her beautiful wings returned to their original white. Her face in a sweet smile, knowing that the afterlife is not something that needs to be feared. The fire in the building cast a faint glow on her face. It was so pretty. Her face was so peaceful, I could have even joined her right then.
