1st December, 2066

Evelyn walked into college, expecting another tedious day. Prepared to face anything that comes her way, she was a bit taken aback when no one immediately bothered her. The sticky notes spelling of her slow and painful demise that usually covered her locker were not in sight neither was her locker stuffed with the usual nasty things inside. Taking a look around her surroundings she paused. Everyone was speaking heatedly in hushed tones about something seemingly important. Some sported a grave expression on their face while others only frowned at what their companions were saying. Something had happened.
"Ethan! Anna" She greeted when she caught sight of them. Anna's hand had healed enough for her to start attending classes again.

"What is going on?" Evelyn asked. Anna looked just as confused.

"You two have not heard about it? There have been some rumors that someone from the ministry has leaked information about the existence of a different alien race that was believed to have gone supposedly extinct, probably stronger than the Elites from the way seem to be panicking. Apparently this new race has 'god-like' abilities. Or so I heard. Some even believe they are present right among us, disguising them. They fear this new race might cause an uprising and lead to the outbreak of another war."

Evelyn paused taking in the information. Even though she was skeptical about the authenticity of the proclamations, a bitter cynical smile graced her lips as she thought about the same predicament that humans had been in, only years ago.

"Serves them right" she thought with vengeance.

"Oh no. This is bad. If another war breaks out, it is the human race that is going to suffer the most. If that other race does take over, we'd be at the bottom of the hierarchy" Anna said worriedly and Evelyn grimaced as she left the pit of her spiteful thoughts and looked at things from a macro perspective. Her friend was right. Humans would suffer just as much, if not more, as their alien counterparts. They might even go extinct.

(Present Day)

It had been a week since her memories had started coming back. She wasn't sure where they were supposed to fit in. If she could visualize the state of her mind, it was linear and complete. The new memories disrupted that state of equilibrium. They made no sense to her. If they hadn't felt so real, she would've dismissed them as dreams. But in her dreams she had always been aware. She had always been aware that she was dreaming. She could not move herself but she could visualize it. The memories were different. They felt like she had experienced them.

Was experiencing them.

After her near breakdown, Emma had been fussing over her. She had taken a leave for a day on Emma's insistence but got back to work the next day much to Emma's dismay. The only good thing that had come out of it was that Emma had stopped associating herself with her 'lovers' and 'friends'. Emma insisted on accompanying her to work and only after a week had she been able to talk Emma out of it and assure her that she was going to be alright.

The first thing Evelyn had done when she saw Anna the next time was badger her with questions in Emma's absence. Anna had refused to answer anything, keeping her lips sealed. Claiming it was for her own good that they were keeping the information away from her.

"I can't understand how you can bear to be civil with Blade after what he did. Aren't you scared of him?"

Anna only sighed, a guilty expression covering her face. " He has changed. He had changed. I can't tell you the details. This is for your own benefit."
