Chapter 9: Bucky Breaks Probation

Bucky felt awful for hurting Allie Kate. But nothing compared to how he felt two weeks later. He was two weeks away from getting his license back and getting off probation.

Allie Kate was at her locker when a friend of hers. Who was on the football team named Drew Bartley came up to her. He was a junior but he was on the student council ans debate team with her. They were also in art history together.

"Hey Allie Kate.." Drew said

"Oh hey Drew." She said

"Um this is for you." Drew hands her a bear that was holding a bag of gummi bears. He had written on the front of the bag "It would be beary sweet if you went to prom with me?"

She smiled "I would love to go to Prom with you Drew." She said

He smiled at her. "You are beautiful when you smile Allie Kate. I love your dimples and these freckles that dance across your nose." He said

She blushed "Thank you Drew. You are to sweet." She said

"I will walk to class since we have it together." He said

"Okay." She said as she shut her locker.

Bucky seen and heard the whole thing. He was pissed as he balled his fists till his knuckles were white. "I have to go" he said and walked off.

He wasn't aware of all of his probation rules. He just thought that he had to stay out of trouble on the road. He skipped his last class and hid under the football bleachers. He was pacing and smoking a cigarette.

"How could she.." he whispered.

That night after baseball practice he skipped out on his community service. It was Allie's day to take him but he was so pissed off that he took off before she said anything.

Bucky drove his dirt bike out to the barn. He had a bottle of bourbon hidden in the loft area along with pain pills and weed. He started to drink and get high as he laid there with his headphones in.

He got a text from his mom asking if he was okay around 8. He texted back that he was fine then did a line of oxycodone. He rolled another joint as he continued to drink.

By midnight his phone died and he was passed out. The next morning Winnie saw Allie come in.

"Honey is James home?" Winnie said

"No I checked his room but he wasn't in there." Allie said

"Well hopefully he is alright and stayed at a friend's house." She said

Winnie was finishing up with a patient when her cellphone was buzzing.

"Hello Winnie Baker." She said

"Hi Mrs Baker this is Sheri Copeland the principal at West Myrtle Beach High." Sheri said

"Hi Ms Copeland." Winnie said

"Im calling regarding your son James Barnes." Sheri said

"Is everything okay?" Winnie said

"No ma'am. Is your ex husband around you?" Sheri said

James and John both came out of ER rooms. She whispered "come with me its the principal." As she dragged both of them to a conference room.

She put her phone on speaker phone and popped out her pop socket. "Okay go ahead. I have both his dad and stepdad." Winnie said

"Okay. James skipped 4th period yesterday and still hasn't shown up today. And it's almost lunch period. And Im very sorry but I have to let his probation officer know." Sheri said
