Chapter 6: Shattered Dreams, Bruised Wrists & Hospital Bed's

It is just about midnight and the Waffle House is packed with what looks like hungry drunk college students. The waitress sits us in a private booth in the corner of the restaurant. A guy who is named Ryan that is in my physiology class comes up to our table. He looks a bit tipsy. "Harley." he yells happily. This is one of the boys I had to let down easy, and he apparently did not get the hint.

Another guy who looks exactly like him, comes and grabs Ryan. They must be twins. "Sorry about that you guys. He got ahold of the tequila tonight." Ryan's twin said trying to pull Ryan away from our table.

"No worries it happens to the best of us." I smile at the twins. They both laugh and they begin to scuffle through the Waffle House and out the door they go.

Hades snickers to himself while his face is buried in the menu. "What?" I ask him playfully. His grey eyes look up to me and his dimples appear on his smooth cheeks.

"Nothing, nothing." He shakes his head back and fourth. I give him the Kregger stink eye to make him speak. "You seem to be very popular with the boys." He laughed. Not sure exactly what he meant by that my face must of obtained an odd expression because he spoke again, "Not in a bad way Harley you just attract a lot of attention. Boys are constantly staring at you." He reassured me with a smile.

"Honestly I do not even notice anymore." I said as my cheeks begin to make their way from their normal color to a soft rose pink. "Boy's annoy the hell me." I said truthfully.

He looked up from his menu and bit his lip. "Do I annoy you Harley?" His voice is flirty yet serious as his eyebrows raise slowly.

"No. Not yet anyways." I answer with pure honesty. He is the only guy since I have moved to CAU that has not annoyed me. He has done the exact opposite in fact. His presence makes me want to be around him even more. He has not even done anything differently from the rest of the guys who have flirted with me. But something about him draws me to him, and I have a love hate relationship with it. I can only hope him and I can come out of this as friends. I do not want to feel more and even if I do I will try to ignore it to the best of my ability.

"The other day you told me their is nothing special about you." He said catching me completely off guard. I looked up from my menu and he was staring at me. "Why do you think that?" He asked.

Holy personal. I am not sure if I am ready to share personal information with him.

"I just do." I said him. I hope he does not take it as I am being rude. The last thing I want to talk about it my personal issues with a guy I barley know. I am not in the mood to bond over waffles and sad stories.

"Well like I said, I will be the judge of that." He smirked at me.

It was quiet for a minute in till the waitress came and got our orders. We both ordered waffles and chocolate milkshakes. With all this food I have been eating these past few days. I am definitely going to half to run a few extra miles this week if I am going to fit in my tiny cheer uniform for the game next Saturday.

The waitress brought us our milkshakes and we began to enjoy their deliciousness. "So you grew up in Chicago?" Hades asked as he wiped milkshake of his cute lips.

"Yeah born and raised." I smiled at him. I liked that question a lot better then the last one he asked me.

"Oh I see. I have never been their. What made you decide to come to college at CAU?" He asked.
