"Shit, I forgot I'm not supposed to leave the house," Jiwoo whispers, hiding behind the old tree in their front yard.

"Why?"

"Some things happened last night and I don't want to talk about it,"

Minho shrugs, spotting something shiny on the grass, "There it is!"

Jiwoo growls, "Out of all places, Lee Minho, you had to drop it near the window of the living room. Where everyone can see us from inside."

"I knocked at your door then peeked a little in your living room," Minho explains. "I must've dropped it during that time."

"Fine then, let's crawl."

"No way."

"Why not?"

"Because a lot of people walk through your yard and I might get an infection or something."

"What are you, 9 years old? Plus, I clean this yard every day."

"Still, I don't trust this."

Jiwoo furrowed her eyebrows, "Do you want to get your keys or not?"

Minho twitches his mouth and ducks down as the two started crawling closer. As soon as the keys were in sight, Minho instantly grabbed it, "I got it."

"Yeah and I got you too," A voice says, sending shiver down his spines. He look up meeting the eyes of Jiwoo's dad.

"I told you not to get out of the house!" Mr. Song exclaims, dragging Jiwoo's inside.

Minho follws in, "Sir, this isn't her fault."

"And who are you?"

"I- I'm her friend," He stutters while answering.

Mr. Song pushed Jiwoo, making her shoulder hit the wall.

"Jiwoo!" Minho rushed to her aid and helped her up. "Are you okay? Where does it hurt?"

"I'm fine, Minho. You should just go," She whispers, on the verge of tears. "Please, I don't want you to get hurt."

Minho met her eyes that were full of sorrow and pain. He sets her down gently on the floor and faced Mr. Song, "Sir, what you're doing is child abuse. I can report you to the police."

"Huh? Who are you tell me what I can and cannot do?"

"It's against the law sir."

"Bullshit! This is my house and you follow my rules,"

"It's still not -" Before Minho could finish his sentence, Mr. Song threw a bottle on the wall, almost hitting Minho's head.

"Dad!" Jiwoo calls and stands up beside Minho.

The boy started to shake in fear but he had to stay strong. He needed to protect Jiwoo from this maniac.

"You -" Jiwoo's dad started walking towards Minho. The young boy grabbed a book from the shelf and bravely hit Mr. Song on the head, making him fall on the ground.

"Jiwoo, I'm so sorry," Minho says, dropping the book.

Jiwoo kneeled down and looked at her dad. He was still breathing. "We have to go,"

"What?"

"If he wakes up and find us both, we're dead." She held Minho's hand, dragging him out, "Come on."
