I stand in silence, hands shaking and lower lip trembling.
I collapse on to my knees.
"Damn it!" I yell, and throw my fists at the ground in defeat and frustration.
An few minutes later, Sebastian finds me sitting on the ground, my knees to my chest, crying.
"Young master." There is a long pause. I can feel his gloved hand on my shoulder. I swat his hand away and storm out into the doorway.
"I'm going out. Alone."
"You could get hurt."
"Stay here, unless I summon you. That is an order."
"Yes, my lord."As I find my way through the forest blindly in the dark, I can feel my heart pound through my frail ribcage. I stumble out into a large clearing. The place where Alois' soul had departed.
Under that same tree he had been leaned against, I sat staring up at the night sky. My eyes closed and before I knew it, I was asleep.
When I woke up, I realized how late it was. I let out a string of curses as I stood up, disoriented. I ran back to find the trail I took, but only found thick vegetation. I looked around once more, and saw something strange. A cluster of thorns, shaped like a tunnel you would see in a park or garden maze. The thorns stuck out like teeth that led to the black abyss inside the tunnel Is this the mouth of hell?
