"Shit!" You exclaim as you look at the clock. You over slept, but usually this alarm would always wake you up. As you threw on some clothes and brushed your teeth, and got ready, you went and checked in the basement to see Eleven was still there, and hidden. You assumed Mike went to school, but something felt.... suspicious. You were sure you set your alarm.

Nancy sits at a lunch table with Carol, Tommy and, Steve. "Look at this. It's totally frostbite." Carol says, with her foot up on the table. She's pointing at a weird mark on her ankle. Probably an ingrown hair or something. "Oh, thanks, man. It's a heated pool." Steve retorted. "Well, if it's not frostbite, then what is it?" Carol asked.

"Ugh, I don't care what it is, it's disgusting! Get it off the table." Steve complained. "We're eating here."

Carol keeps her foot on the table for a second more and Tommy tried to poke it with his spoon. Carol smacks his arm away and puts her foot back on the ground. "Hey, Tommy. When you left, did you see Barb?" Nancy asked.

"What?"

"Barbara. She's not here today." Nancy continued. "I seriously have no idea who you're talking about." Tommy smirked and snorted. "Come on, don't be an ass, man." Steve finally spoke up. "Did you, did you see her leave last night or not?"

"No, she was gone when we left." Tommy answered. "Probably couldn't stand listening to all that moaning." Carol said.

You were only a couple tables away sitting with some others from your last class, going over homework. Unfortunately you heard this. "Oh, Steve! Oh Steve!" Carol and Tommy started moaning Steve's name loudly and then Tommy started banging on the table. You cringed, not wanting to know what they were talking about.

Once you were finished talking to your classmates, you got up and were going to walk to your class a little early. You weren't really thinking and ended up walking by Nancy and Steve's table.

"(Y/n)!" Nancy snapped you out of your thoughts. You turned to look at her but instantly felt vulnerable and worried standing near Tommy and Carol, both of them smirking at you. "What's wrong?" You asked, trying not to make eye contact with anyone else. "Have you seen Barb? She's in one of your classes, right?" Nancy asked.

"I haven't had that class yet. Sorry, Nance." You said quickly, turning your head and walking away fast.

Later that day, school was finally over, and you caught Nancy outside using the phone.

"Hi. Hi, uh, Ms. Holland, it's Nancy." Overhearing Nancy, you were confused why she would need to call Barb's mom. "I'm good. Um, I was just wondering, uh, is Barb there?"

"But she did come home, right? After the vigil?" Nancy questioned. You couldn't hear what Ms. Holland was responding with, but you were hoping everything was okay.

"Right, yes. She did, sorry. I meant, did she come home this morning? I think she left some textbooks and she was gonna go pick them up."

"Do you know what? I just remembered she's at the library." What? You thought, now confused as ever.

"Yeah. Yeah, I will. Sorry to bother you." Nancy hung up.

"Nancy, what's going on?" You asked, making her jump a little and turn around. She looked down at the ground, and you could see worry and guilt etched across her face. "I'm worried about Barb. Will you help me out today?" She asked. "Of course..." You said, trailing off because you wanted to watch Mike too. "Here, um stay with me. I have to tell Steve I'm not staying for the game."

You nodded and followed Nancy over to the parking lot. Once Steve, Tommy, and Carol came into view, you could see something was going on. Nicole was standing with them, and Will's older brother. Jonathan. Jonathan seemed to be trying to get what looked like a folder, from Steve.
