It was the day of Will's funeral, even though you, Nancy, and Jonathan knew he had to be alive. Everyone had gotten dressed in black and was now at the cemetery standing around Will's casket, that would soon be lowered into the ground.

"Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you.I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Pastor Charles quoted, and continued. "It's times like these that our faith is challenged. How, if He is truly benevolent could God take from us someone so young, so innocent? It would be easy to turn away from God but we must remember that nothing, not even tragedy, can separate us from His love. We are here today to find comfort in the truth of scripture, - and to surround Will and his family -"

"Just wait till we tell Will that Jennifer Hayes was crying at his funeral." Dustin said to Mike and Lucas. Your mom leans down and shushes them.

As everyone was leaving the funeral, you met up with Nancy and Jonathan. Jonathan was holding a small map of Hawkins and he had marked three X's for the places the creature had been.

"This is where we know for sure it's been, right?" Jonathan double checked. You nodded. "So, that's--" Nancy pointed at one of the X's. "Steve's house." Jonathan said.

"And that's the woods where they found Will's bike and that's my house." Jonathan continued. "It's all so close." You pointed out. "Yeah, exactly." He agreed.

"I mean, it's all within a mile or something. Whatever this thing is, it's not traveling far." Jonathan added. "You wanna go out there." Nancy said to him. "We might not find anything." Jonathan remarked.

"We found something." You said, referring to you and Nancy. "And if we do see it... then what?"

Jonathan signs, and thinks for a moment. "We kill it."

Jonathan walked over to his dad's car, you and Nancy following. He sat in the passenger seat and was trying to pick the lock on the glove box. "What are you doing?" Nancy asked him. "Just give me a second." He grumbled. He finally got it open and pulled out a gun and a box of ammo. "Are you serious?" Nancy asked, giving him a quizzical look.

"What? You want to find this thing and take another photo? Yell at it?" Jonathan asked her, and you were honestly feeling that Jonathan was right, but you didn't know how to use a gun. Jonathan closed the glove box and got out of the car. "This is a terrible idea." Nancy stated.

"Yeah, well, it's the best we've got." Jonathan said. "I have to agree with him, Nancy." You said. "What? You can tell someone but they're not gonna believe you." Jonathan said to Nancy, who was looking at you and Jonathan in disagreement. "You know that." You added.

"Your mom would." Nancy said, looking at Jonathan. "She's been through enough." Jonathan reminded her. "She deserves to know." Nancy argued.

"Yeah, and I'll tell her when this thing's dead."

Later, everyone that attended the funeral was now at a refreshment hall. You hadn't really had much time to talk to Mike lately about Eleven, you had no idea what had happened in the past day. You thought now would be the best time considering your parents were distracted.

You looked around for the three boys, and finally found them sitting at a table talking to your old science teacher, Mr. Clarke. You walked over to them.

"(y/n)! I haven't seen you in a while." Mr. Clarke greets as you take a seat next to Mike. You smiled at him and said, "It's nice to see you too, even under these circumstances."
