The actual rink wasn’t that crowded which was a good thing for us.
Hockey players that came to open skate too zoomed by me and almost made me lose my balance. I have to admit I have never ice skated, this would be my first. The only reason I got really excited was that I have always wanted to. Cross that off my bucket list.
I don’t think Matt knew this was my first time. “Isn’t this great, Hannah?” he asked looking at me, a smile across his face. “Um, only if you know how to skate.” I said cracking a smile. “Oh my gosh, you’ve never been skating before?” he questioned in shock, pulling me off to the side so we wouldn’t get hit. I looked down at my feet, embarrassed. “I have lived in California my whole life and my family never got the chance to go.” I admitted looking into his eyes. “Here”, he said grabbing my arm, “I will show you how.”
Matt pulled me off from the wall. Out of nowhere, my feet slipped out from underneath me and I fell flat on my butt, completely humiliated. Matt couldn’t stop laughing. I gave him a stare. There was no way I could get up without his help. “Matt, stop laughing and help me up”, I said sternly. He just continued laughing, covering his mouth with his hand.
“Fine, I promise next time you fall I will help you up.” Matt said after pulling me to my feet again. “You better keep your promise, Mr.” I told Matt joking around. I wasn’t that mad at him.
Finally, I was able to skate without Matt by the end of the night when the rink closed. I fell a few times but nothing as bad as the first fall I had.
“Shit. Hannah, I forgot about the dinner reservations we had at seven o’clock.” Matt said when we were in the parking lot. I looked at my phone, it was 6:45. The restaurant was blocks away; I hope we get there in time. We quickly got in the car and Matt drove away. On the way, we made small talk. Matt drove like a maniac. Praying he wouldn’t get hit.

Matt and I got there literally right on time, thankfully. Cam, Shawn, and the other boys, were already here. I saw Cam waiting outside for us. He waved when he saw our car.
The sign above the glass doors read, “Stone Grill”. California didn’t have this restaurant in the area where I was from. It’s good to try something new.
A private room in the back was reserved for the 11 of us. I picked a seat between Matt and Nash. Nash and I we friends but we weren’t really that close. We talked a little but I never got a real chance to get to know him. He was wonderfully funny. The best jokes I ever heard came from him.
A hot waiter came to get our drink orders. I could tell all of the boys were drooling from the way they looked at her. She introduced herself as Emily. Honestly I didn’t see what they saw. Okay, so she has nice long brown hair, no acne, and is super thin, I guess I have to admit she’s kind of pretty.
Just from the way she talked to them, she was trying to flirt with them. Matt was watching me study her and not looking in her direction, I rolled my eyes and my focus went towards Matt. “What are you going to get?” he asked looking at the menu. “Not sure yet, I was think about getting sliders.” I replied. “I love those. Thanks, I will get them too.” Matt said.
Throughout dinner was perfect. The food was fantastic and we all laughed about old memories of each other. Halfway through I felt Matt’s hand touch mine. I reached other and entwined our figures together under the table. Nash leaded over and saw. His expression changed into a grin. “Aw, you two look so happy together.” He understood. I was happy being with Matt. We have only been together about a little over a month now. Matt leaned in towards my check and placed a gentle kiss on it and I blushed. This was the first time he has showed affection for me in public, like kissing.
Nash, Matt, and I caught up with each other. Nash has been on tour for the past three months nonstop meeting fan girls every step he takes. Can’t blame him with the like over nine million fans he has. Must be exhausting, but It’s something he loves.
Dinner ended, and we all decided to crash for the night in the hotel rooms. Cam drove the four of us back. Windows down, blasting Taylor Swift and signing at the top of our lungs, all off tune. It was hilarious. Life is good right now I thought to myself.
