"You're beautiful, my expensive girl."

"Shut up, Joonie."

"That's no way of responding to a compliment, Nari." He laughed.

"That's no compliment. I told you to stop calling me that, I hate that song."

"Please. I know you love it especially the part when-"

"Don't you dare!"

He smirked and she felt herself blushing.

Not today, satan!

Actually, the reason why she hated that song was... well, here is the thing. She grew up with this dork and she'd always seen him as her cute best friend slash brother. But when they became teenagers, things changed.

They weren't children anymore and she wasn't as comfortable around him as before. She saw him as a man, not her cute best friend anymore. It confused her.

To make things worse, he became an idol trainee, so they saw each other less. When he debuted, she realized that she had feelings for him, but she never got to confess because she couldn't stop comparing herself to the women around him.

The actresses, the other idols, they were beautiful, sexy, talented, very skinny. All the things she wasn't. She had a lot on her bones, as Soha liked to say. She also said that it was sexy as f**. Still, she wasn't an idol.

Her only talent was martial arts. She practiced it since high school and for her, the natural thing was to become a police officer. And she wasn't as feminine as the girls her age, so why would he look at her?

She decided to conceal her feelings and just forget about him. They would always be best friends and nothing else. She even started dating someone.

FLASHBACK-

The day she heard the song for the first time, she was at home for a week because her father wanted to spend some time with her. Jungkook was at school, so she was bored to death.

But Namjoon called her, which was surprising since they talked the day before.

They talked two to three times a week, depending on how hectic his schedule was or how busy she was at the police academy. So she didn't expect a call from him until the weekend at least.

But since it was her birthday week, she thought maybe she was having a special treat.

"Hey, Nari!" He said when she picked up his video call.

"Hey yourself, did you miss me or something" she answered with a smirk.

He laughed and it was the most precious sound in the entire world.

"You know I always miss you."

"Awww, Joonie."

She tried to ignore the increase in her heartbeat. He was her best friend, damn it! Plus, she had a boyfriend. Her heart needed to calm the f** down.

"Did you listen to my new song?"

"You dropped a new single already? Your album was released not that long ago."

"It's not an official single, I was just messing around."

"Oh, I see. What's the title?"

She pulled up her computer and turned it on.

"Expensive girl," he answered with a small laugh.
