Superintendent Min looked at the board again and sighed. He really looked like he didn't want to be there. He seemed annoyed, but Nari knew it wasn't at her. She hadn't caused any problem for weeks.

"We kept discovering bodies every week for three weeks, but we haven't found any in a month." Soha continued, ignoring his yawning.

Nari almost laughed. Soha was never intimidated by the young man and she didn't hide it. But then again, superintendent Min didn't seem to care.

"That's a good thing, right?" He said in his usual bored tone.

"Or not? What if he is keeping them in his closet? Literally?"

"Not funny." He said looking all serious now.

"I wasn't trying to be, sir."

"Ah, don't call me that. I'm only three years older than you."

"You're still my boss, though."

"Am I? Because you don't act like it."

Nari had a silent laugh but stopped when her gaze met his.

"You're no different, detective Park."

She rolled her eyes at him and he was about to say something when Soha interrupted "so what should I call you?"

"I don't know. Get to the point, I have somewhere I need to be."

"OK, sir. So we think he went dormant." Soha said, emphasizing on the word sir.

He looked at her through narrowed eyes and after a few seconds of silence, he finally said "Or maybe he went away? He could be making victims in another city or country as we speak."

That would make so much sense! Plus, Nari had a bad feeling about all this. They were definitely missing something.

Well, aside from who the criminal was, of course. They needed more information about him, but how would they get it? He never left any fingerprints on the bodies and he didn't get involved with them sexually either. There was no way of getting his DNA.

"Actually," superintendent Min started as he stood up "I don't really believe in that theory."

"What theory?"

"That he traveled all around the world to kill."

"Maybe his job makes him travel a lot?"

"He'd still be more comfortable here, right? Since he is Korean"

"What makes you so sure that he is? He could be a foreigner living in Korea."

"Detective Cha, you seem to have woken up this morning to irritate me."

There was a silence as they were staring at each other. The rest of the team was watching in anticipation. Who would win this staring contest?

"Can you guys feel the amount of sexual tension in the room?" Eungi murmured and the others nodded.

"Maybe if you stopped assuming things, I wouldn't have to irritate you."

"Are you saying that I irritated you first?"

"Yes, sir."

She crossed her arms on her chest and gave him a challenging look. Now everyone was holding their breath.

Would superintendent Min start yelling? Would he just dismiss her as he did everyone else? Yes, the only time he yelled was when Nari almost got them sued.

He never expressed his displeasure by yelling. He just swore in a really harsh tone or just ignored the object of his dissatisfaction. Or, he used his words to hurt. He was good at that. A savage, this mister Min.
