Chapter 7: Blackmail and Payback

I woke up and took a look at the clock, it read six fifty-five, Tuesday, so today's the day, me and Pyrrha talk to Jaune, and Cardin starts blackmailing him, I don't wanna do this, but I have to let this happen, Me and Neo got ready and headed off to Doctor Ooblecks class, we sat down and as the remaining students, when we did the good Doc started, Neo was surprised by the speeds at which he dashed around the room speaking, we all were at first, but we had all developed our own way of getting around it, mine was simply to have my Scroll record the entire lesson, so anything I missed I could just listen back to.

"Now, which one of you young scholars can tell me what many theorize is to be the turning point in the third year of the War?" Oobleck said as he zoomed to Weiss' raised hand

"The battle at Fort Castle." She said proudly, 'such' a creative name

"Precisely! And who can tell me the advantage the Faunus had over General Lagunes forces?" Out of the corner of my eye I saw Cardin flick a piece of paper at the back of Jaunes head causing him to jolt awake, Doctor Oobleck zoomed over to him

"Mister Arc! Finally contributing to class! This is excellent! Excellent! What is the answer?" Jaune looks confused and looks over to Pyrrha, she tries to help him but fails

"Binoculars!" he said rather proudly, Cardin and a few others laughed at him while Pyrrha just face-palmed, Oobleck decided to ask Cardin next and I could see Blakes knuckles whiten at his answer

"Well, I know it's a lot easier to train an animal than a soldier." I quickly tapped Blake on the shoulder and gave her a wink before saying

"Thaaaaaaat's racist!" The whole class except Cardin, who looked annoyed, Blake who looked shocked, and Doctor Oobleck who zoomed in front of me

"Mister L/N!" I smiled 

"Eh?, what's up doc?" A few more giggles

"Can you give us the answer?" My smile widened

"General Lagune lost the battle at Fort Castle because he attacked at night, normally this would be a sound strategy, however he forgot to account for the Faunus' near perfect vision in the dark." I said, Blake carried through

"Perhaps if he'd paid attention in class, he wouldn't have been remembered as such a failure." Cardin got up, fist clenched however Oobleck told him to sit back down, he told Cardin and Jaune to stay behind as the rest of us filed out, as I walked through the door Pyrrha tapped my shoulder and held me back, Neo gave me a confused look but I told her me and Pyrrha had some business, she looked sad but Weiss then came over.

"Hello Y/N, Pyrrha, Neo" her demeanor suddenly changed as she turned to Neo

"I wish to apologize, I was being insensitive, again, I heard about what your conditions were like before Y/N was kind enough to bring you here, I was wondering if you'd like to accompany me to get you some clothes, I'll pay for everything so don't worry about finances." The three of us were surprised but Neo smiled and nodded, the two of them walked away, but I could've sworn I saw Neo shoot me a sad look, I couldn't think too much about this as Jaune came out, Cardin was about to push him from behind but I pulled him out of the way just in time, Cardin scowled at me and I smirked back, Pyrrha spoke

"You know, I really will break his legs." I decided to speak as well

"Yeah, I'll even hold him down, I'm sure everyone back in my world wants to see that too." Pyrrha just gave me a look that told me to stop, she spoke again

"Anyway, you two follow me I have an idea." She grabbed Jaunes hand and ran, I struggled to keep up because of their head-start, eventually we made it to the roof of one of the dorm blocks, I could see the blush on Pyrrhas face from grabbing Jaune, Jaune looks over the edge
